Dj Goz moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Dj Goz, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. GSS (talk|c|em) 13:58, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

@GSS, I have added references from newspapers that talk about Dj Goz. I also fiund blogs, through mu research, in other languages, that talk about him, but i did not add them to the article as they are not in English. So, from the References snd the Citations, Dj Goz is very notable.

Please move this page (Dj Goz) back to the main space. More people will be able to contribute to the article if they can see it online. So, please publish Dj Goz to the main space.

Thank you. ©Magellan

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Greatolibiz. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 13:59, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Greatolibiz, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Greatolibiz|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. GSS (talk|c|em) 05:39, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I am just contributing an article. Magellan (talk) 21:56, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please move the page Dj Goz from the Draft namespace to the (Article) namespace. Magellan (talk) 21:57, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Responding to the COI Claim from GSS

edit

I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I am just contributing an article. © Bizzy Beats (talk) 20:49, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

First of all can you please explain what is your relationship with the subject of your article? why you signed as "Bizzy Beats" a record label owned by Dj Goz? and where did you get this image from? Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 09:23, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

That was a silly mistake of mine. I apologize for the confusion that it created. This is my first time creating an article on wikipedia, so, i randomly picked that signature because i thought it would make more sense since i was writing an article about Dj Goz and Bizzy Beats. I did not know that would create a misunderstanding. I truly apologize for the confusion.

As for the picture, i reached out to him through his public Snapchat profile and asked him if i could have a photo of him for an article that i am writing and he gave it to me with full permission.

Thank you, GSS.

©Magellan 10:50, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

As for the relationship, as i already said to you on your talk page, I first saw Dj Goz perform a couple of years ago when i visited the university of Idaho. I then did some research to learn more about him, liked what he has done for other artists in Idaho and in Africa, and wanted to write an article about him to let the world know about him and his work. I am not directly or indirectly being compensated by him or anyone on his behalf, i just want to share this article with the world.

I would appreciate having the page re-published in the main space, and i am sure other people will add/contribute more as they find the article about him online.

Thank you for your understanding and again, sorry for all the confusion.

Looking forward to seeing Dj Goz page online.

Warmest Regards,

©Magellan 10:58, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

Blocked

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating Wikipedia's terms of use by engaging in undisclosed paid editing and using Wikipedia for advertising or promotion.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Note to reviewing admins: The reasoning behind this block involves outing, and so I will not be going into detail on-wiki; please email me if you are reviewing the block. Suffice to say that this user appears to have been deliberately dishonest about their relationship with the subject of the article they are trying to create. Yunshui  09:31, 25 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yunshui, you can't make such claims without proof. You can't just delete a page without even contacting its author for clarifications or warnings; this violates some aspects of the Wikipedia's own Blocking policy. I have been in contact with GSS and provided answers to his questions regarding my relationship with the subject in the article.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

As i told GSS, i am not directly or indirectly being paid by the subject in the article. As i already said, I first saw Dj Goz perform a couple of years ago when i visited the university of Idaho. I then did some research to learn more about him, liked what he has done for other artists in Idaho and in Africa, and wanted to write an article about him to let the world know about him and his work. I contacted him for more information through his public Snapchat profile and he provided me with the information that i needed to write the article. I am not directly or indirectly being compensated by him or anyone on his behalf, i just want to share this article with the world. I would appreciate being unblocked for edits and moves, and having the page re-published in the main space. Other people will add/contribute more as they find the article about him online. Thank you for your understanding. Looking forward to my account being unblocked for edits and moves, also looking forward to the deletion of the page being reverted and the page posted to the main space. Sincerely, ©Magellan 14:57, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Decline reason:

In reviewing this matter, I must concur with Yunshui's opinion and the reason for it. As such, I do not believe an unblock is appropriate, and I must decline your request. 331dot (talk) 00:17, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
