ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Marlo R. Cruz.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Marlo R. Cruz.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Majora (talk) 21:09, 28 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

March 2016 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give CIBI Information a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 19:00, 30 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:CIBIinformatonIncPHLogo.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:CIBIinformatonIncPHLogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:12, 15 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

May you kindly unblock my account and allow me to contribute more on the Wikipedia sphere. There are very limited contributor who supports the credit and financial aspect in the Philippines and updating Wikipedia pages is part of my financial/credit information literacy project. Thank you and may you let me know the next steps.

Decline reason:

You have no chance of being unblocked unless you address your promotional editing, your copyright violations, and your likely conflicts of interest. Your only responses to such concerns so far have been to simply remove all warnings from your talk page - you are allowed to remove such warnings, but you are not allowed to ignore them and carry on regardless. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:15, 11 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please review the conflict of interest policy and then describe any conflicts of interest that you have. Other editors have tried to discuss this and other concerns with you over the years but you simply remove the warnings. This project is a collaborative one that requires editors to sometimes talk to each other. 331dot (talk) 09:04, 11 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

So far, I don't know which issues on my contributions have violated the conflict of interest. As much as possible, I try my best to be straightforward. Can you help me pinpoint which areas to address?

Decline reason:

The conflict of interest stems from the fact that you work for CIBI, and have not disclosed this. You will not be unblocked as long as we believe you intend to write about your company. Yunshui  08:11, 7 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I made a declaration of the COI on the Userpage. Please do let me know if this suffices and what are my next steps. As an update, I am no longer connected with the company and that I wish to regain access to this account so I may further contribute issues and topics that revolve around the credit information in the Philippines. There are limited published articles and exposure to this matter and it will greatly impact the financial health of many Filipinos. May it be that Wikipedia will be one of their efficient resources. I now fully understood the effects of my previous actions and I will become a much better contributor now. May you kindly lift the block and allow me to contribute to this prolific platform that I owe from, greatly. I will never survive college without Wikipedia. And since, I am able and not have a lot of money to contribute, I wish to share my time and knowledge. Thank and I hope you will consider this plea. Thank you, administrators!

Please include a decline or accept reason.

Your request is not displaying properly because you are simply copying a decline request and rewriting it. You must use {{unblock|reason=Overwrite this text with your reason}} to make your request(without the nowiki tags). 331dot (talk) 12:09, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You won't be unblocked to edit about anything related to your conflict of interest. You will need to use social media or some other website to spread financial advice to Filipinos. You will need to agree to not edit anything about your field in order to be unblocked and tell what you will edit about instead. The block only affects editing; you can still read Wikipedia unencumbered. Your donations or lack thereof to the Foundation that operates the computers Wikipedia is on has no bearing on your edits. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:32, 10 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
