Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

I was the author of the text, even though it appeared on the Learning2 website, I'm board chair of that site and the text was mine, although not signed on the site. They are using the bio text with my permission. I can reference it, but it seems odd to delete it since it exists multiple places with my permission as well.

  • Hi Jon, and thanks for letting us know this. However there is a bit more that would have to be done in order to use that text here. Because of the license we publish under, which allows anyone anywhere to re-use our material, you would need to follow the procedure at this link. This will involve you confirming your identity and ownership confidentially of course. Note that once you do this, anyone anywhere can re-use that text for any purpose (including for profit) without further permission from you, as long as they link back to here. If this is what you wish to do, please go to WP:DCM and follow those steps to authorize this text. That text may have to be suppressed again pending this authorization, but can be easily restored once that os complete. Please let me know if you have any questions on this, thanks!
