Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Zara Larsson has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 17:19, 14 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Blocked as a sockpuppet edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Tdv123 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Tdv123. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  GeneralNotability (talk) 12:37, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I'm certain this block or sock puppet suspection is due to a similar IP range. I do understand that mistakes like this are completely accidental. None of those accounts belong to me. Our edits are very different and none of the reasons for their blockings have ever been an issue with me. If I have violated any rules of Wikipedia regardless of this block, I'll happily take responsibility. I also was not even old enough to use Wikipedia when their first account was created. Thanks in advance! Gavin the Otter (talk) 16:47, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi, me again. I'm sorry for not explaining this sooner and for leaving this for so late, but I can explain this better now. The person you were originally blocking, Tdv123, is my brother. I can tell because of the pages and topics he edits. Since we live in the same house, we obviously share the same IP and it looks as if I'm a sockpuppet of his. Is there any way I can prove this? I again apologise for getting back so late on this and for not explaining it better beforehand, I was a little bit nervous to explain. I have absolutely no intention of causing havoc on Wikipedia. Thanks in regards. Gavin the Otter (talk) 21:19, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

We hear this excuse often, so much so that it has its own essay, WP:BROTHER. We don't know who is sitting at the computer/holding the device editing. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 22:07, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@331dot: I'm reasonably familar with the Tdv123 sockpuppets and I'm fairly sure Gavin is a different person, especially taking their statement on face value. Obviously we do have no way of knowing who's using an account, and since Tdv123 is very much a SPA focused on The Troubles perhaps an unblock for Gavin with a Troubles TBAN might work? FDW777 I'm not the blocking admin, but what you say sounds okay to me. 331dot (talk) 09:26, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@GeneralNotability: as the blocking admin/checkuser any thoughts on this? I was rather surprised at the initial findings since there's no apparent editing similarity, either in style or subjects. For that reason I'm genuninely of the opinion they are two different people, and a Troubles TBAN (which would not be an inconvenience since Gavin has never edited a Troubles article) would solve any problems of being unsure who is editing. It's been long enough that I hardly remember any of this. This is not a CU block, and I trust 331dot's judgment on how to deal with this. GeneralNotability (talk) 20:06, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Gavin the Otter, is such a Tban okay with you? 331dot (talk) 08:58, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
