Thanks for the timely reversion of that vandalism to my userpage. --Alf melmac 23:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ditto. Thanks! Much appreciated. Georgewilliamherbert 06:35, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I hereby appoint you official image organiser for my page. They do look a little disorganised at the bottom now, but perhaps that's just an artefact of my operating system ...? Tony 01:47, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello Galactor213 and welcome to wikipedia. I am not copypasting the classic welcome template because I don't know where it is, let's leave the courtesy work to other people  :-) I noticed you contributed to the discussion in Macrophilia's talk page (Yay!), and so I replied to your message there. I want the article to reach FA status. Pentalis 13:34, 23 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Heh, I did notice that the anon had reverted vandalism very quickly after it had been created, which was mysterious. Oh well. -- Steel 14:41, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Monster Hunter Vandalism

edit

I shouldn't have to want to vandalize the Monster Hunter page. For a while, I was editing some of the more vague areas since I am an extreme fan of the game, so far I've redone Quests, Hunter Rank, and Weapons. The Quests area stayed intact, but the Hunter Rank and Weapons were DELETED AND BROUGHT BACK TO THE SAME VAGUE VERSION I WAS TRYING TO IMPROVE. I know the vandalism I caused was of malicious intent, and I apologize, but I have every right to be angry over someone deleting my hard work on that page. If there is ANY way you can restore what I typed, please tell me.

If you are confused as to who I am, try to recall the IP 24.192.118.163.
My response:
I apologize if you feel slighted, but what you did was most definitely page blanking. I did NOT however revert your true contributions, I am not sure why those were reverted, you'd have to put that up with Falcon9x5, I only reverted your pretty obvious (and pretty well labeled) "Text removed" edit that you confessed was malicious. I have, for the moment, reverted the changes back to those that you had made, and will make a discussion of this both in the discussion tab there, as well as with Falcon to make sure that there is wasn't something in there that I missed that he disagreed with. Galactor213 22:27, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

After looking at it, the only reason I would think they would have reverted it is that is seems to be somewhat game walkthrough like. Regardless, I have reverted it to it's state, and put up a question to why it was reverted. If it's common consensus that version is not up to par with Wikipedia guidelines, then I will be forced to rerevert it back to a more tidier version based on common consensus. I hope you understand. Galactor213 22:33, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

That is indeed why. It was labeled as "Unencyclopedic," by Falcon9x5, and was cleaned up because of that. However I would have to say I agree with you on this one, and have put a disputed tag on the page instead of rereverting. Galactor213 22:57, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Belgium not an Axis power

edit

Why did you revert my edit? That wasn't vandalism that was just me pointing out the bleeding obvious fact that Belgium was never an Axis power and that there was no USSR invasion of Belgium. Is this how you treat people who want to correct errors? 83.72.128.13 18:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC) PS: I am on shared DSL connection. So edits from this IP number aren't all made by me. In fact I just tried to correct an obvious (and extremely insulting) error.Reply

My Response
(just in case he doesn't read his own talk page, as well as to put this to rest, for I am shamed): My apologies. I'm a bit new at reverting, and I was trying to do things quickly. Your case looked pretty cut and dry. You had warnings issued too you due to vandalism, and the Axis Powers seemed to be a case of Blanking Vandalism. I thought it a bit odd to have Belgium in the Axis Powers too, but I also agree with Guinnog, such drastic edits as removing an entire section should be put to a consensus before doing it. As of now, it's out, and no one is complaining so I think it's alright. Again, my apologies, you were doing the right thing. Galactor213 19:04, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Don't beat yourself up about it. I would have done the same. --Guinnog 04:18, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your Message

edit

Thanks for posting. It would appear that whilst using Lupin's Anti Vandal Tool (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lupin/Filter_recent_changes) I have accidently reverted to the wrong version. Fornost 18:15, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

With regards to the Anti Vandal Bot problem you may be interested in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:AntiVandalBot#Bot_acting_up_on_PS3_page, basicly its been reverting edits back to vandalism, but the bot has now managed to start reverting back to non vandalised edits. Vandal tags

edit

Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia!

Be sure to put warning tags on the vandal's user talk page (such as {{subst:test}}, {{subst:test2}}, {{subst:test3}}, {{subst:test4}}). Add each of these tags on the vandal's talk page, in sequential order, after each instance of vandalism. Adding warnings to the talk page assists administrators in determining whether or not the user should be blocked. If the user continues to vandalize pages after you add the {{subst:test4}} tag, request administrator assistance at Request for Intervention. Again, thank you for helping to make Wikipedia better.

Accidental Warning?

edit

You just warned me (Meeples) for actions on the article History of Japan -- I actually reverted previous vandalism, so I think this was a mistake. ~~ Meeples 04:02, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

My Response:

Sorry, didn't mean to warn you. Vandalproof isn't terribly picky on who it decides to revert. Corrected, and fixed. Galactor213 04:05, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

hi, why do you revert? The mod seems ok to me, except for spelling. — Xiutwel (talk) 19:15, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

my response: Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't see it was a direct quote. Regardless, I added a Citation due to, as you said, "bad word choice" or, in this case, a direct quote uncredited. Galactor213 19:19, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Miki Berenyi

edit

(Hope this is in the right place): Please don't take this the wrong way, but what in the name of common sense do you think you're doing with the Miki Berenyi page? I removed a huge chunk of unrelated spam and you instantly reverted it?!?!?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.167.183.190 (talk)

my response: My apologies, the first paragraph seemed legit, and saying I'm using Vandal Proof, I'm simply skimming the articles to see if the stuff is actually fluff your cutting or real info. I'll revert it, and the tag is off as you see now. Galactor213 02:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Lincoln's Inn Fields

edit

I think your anti-vandal software was over-zealous here; I removed particularly offensive vandalism at the very top of an article that you then reverted back. While I understand that removing vandalism is an important part of improving Wikipedia and am not personally offended, I do think it is worth bearing in mind the disconcerting effect that your approach might have on newbies who spot flagrant vandalism and remove it, only to receive a rather agressive and technical message. *I* understand the problem, and why this has happened, but others might not so being more explanatory in your message might be a good idea. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.4.22.2 (talk)

My response: Apologies. Yes, Vandal Proof does have it's quirks... it's supposed to have had fail safes to prevent that, so I'm not sure how this happened, but I've reverted it. Thank you for bringing it too my attention. Galactor213 02:54, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Im in ur base killin ur d00dz

edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Im in ur base killin ur d00dz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Im in ur base killin ur d00dz. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. ShadowHalo 17:39, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

In that case, you may want to add something to the article asserting its notability. I'll remove the {{prod}} template and put it on AFD and see what other people have to say (and I'll leave a link on your page when I've created it). Thanks for notifying me. —ShadowHalo 22:58, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
In the process of putting it on WP:AFD, I noticed this: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Im in ur base killin ur d00dz, which says that the article is to be deleted. I'm readding the {{prod}} template. —ShadowHalo 23:05, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Newsatseven.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Newsatseven.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MECUtalk 00:49, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
