Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:35, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

You are persisting on vandalisng our pages. Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia. In response to your posting on my talk page for everybody to see, it is you who has an agenda, not me. I am doing an honest job to try to edit in a neutral encyclopedic language based on references cited. You have created this so called "account" just to vandalise this specific page. Instead of his proper name in Arabic, عبد المجيد عبد الباري you have replace it with ابن مثلي الجنس من عاهرة literally a "homosexual" and "son of a whore" referring to his mother. The rest of your edits are also detrimental and unsubstantiated. After just two attempts of editing, you now have the audacity to threathen a colleague for his edits, a further indication of the set of mind you came in here to edit. When contientious colleague like Materialscientist warns you you persist. Then I warn you and you still persist a third time. This treatment of experienced colleagues from someone who has never done one single edit earlier is highly arrogant and aggressive. As for his radicalisation because of arrest of his father it is clearly from this source: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/08/26/meet-abdel-majed-abdel-bary-aka-l-jinny-the-ali-g-of-evil.html The article quotes one of his songs saying: "Gimme that nine and I’ll cock it for my partners; Gimme the pride and I’ll honor it like my father. I swear the day they came and took my dad I could’ve killed a couple, too, and I wouldn’t have looked back. Imagine back then I was only 6. Just picture what I’ll do now with a loaded stick.” This is a clear sign of radicalisation because of his father's arrest. Continuing on the same article: "I’m reaching out to you, lord. I know you hear me; I hope you’re near me. I could feel the lack of love. I’m stuck behind this cross of swords; I’m trying to grab a dove. And I could see the light, but can’t reach it. I’ve had enough.” This is word for word from the The Daily Beastarticle cited. You are unfit to edit any page as far as I am concerned. This matter of open threats in itself on my talk page and so publicly without shame or remorse is grounds enough for your suspension. As for my edits, they are fully substantiated by the references cited. werldwayd (talk) 00:14, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
After having replaced his name by "son of a gay man from a whore" (ابن مثلي الجنس من عاهرة) referring to his parents, this time, you have replaced his name by another derogatory term (لدي الجنس مع الخنازير) associating him with pigs for those ignorant in Arabic. Wikipedia is not a YouTube videos like commentary page where adding insult is sadly a free for all activity. I undestand you despise the man. But it is not an excuse at all for such edits. On my talk page you say: "Do you have a particular agenda regarding the subject at hand?". And I am responding with exactly the same words to you: Do you have a particular agenda regarding the subject at hand? At least own up to your own words and refrain from adding disparaging remarks. You have amassed enough editing infractions in these few days including personally threatening me on my talk page that your suspension from editing is in order. For me it is long overdue, ever since your first edit if I may add. werldwayd (talk) 22:04, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

For the record, here is the threat to me as editor posted on my talk page:

I'm not sure why you stetted my revisions to the Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary page. The original is atrociously written, and quite unsubstantiated in its own right. When you permit original articles that outright term an individual as a "rapper" or a "hacker," you are perpetuating nonsensical nomenclature. Do you have a particular agenda regarding the subject at hand? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gadsden14 (talkcontribs) 22:33, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

UPDATE: You persist in publishing a highly politicized self-written article that not only contains irrelevant information, but also highly biased and uncited material. For example, do you truly believe that it is appropriate to publish "Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary was radicalised by Muslim groups in England. His father's legal ordeal and his eventual extradition to the States greatly affected Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary and served in radicalising him further." These statements are YOUR statements -- and wholly unsubstantiated.

You have continued to revert my edits, calling my updates "vandalism," when they are nothing of the sort. Again, I ask: Do you have a particular agenda regarding the subject at hand? It's interesting that your own activity is centered primarily within English and Arabic. I am reporting you to U.S. authorities, for my own peace of mind. Added here as a matter of record by editor werldwayd from my own talk page with a post by Gadsden14 dated 4 September 2014. werldwayd (talk) 22:15, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I despise the man. To give him even the title of "rapper" is repugnant, when he has neither earned compensation for his lyrics nor had a professional affiliation with a record label. Further, for you to pen an article positing as true the notion that he was unfortunately affected and further radicalized as a result of seeing his father, a MASS MURDERER, arrested is as ignorant as it it unsubstantiated. You ask me whether I have an agenda... Of course I do -- I am a United States citizen who wishes to discredit, uncover and eviscerate the extremist Islamists that you inadvertently heap fame upon vis-a-vis acknowledgment on Wiki. Carry on, but know that we are watchful.
Some more veiled threats this time, by you saying "we are watchful". Exactly what that "we" means is unclear. If you are an honest editor, why do you use the term "we". Was that a slip of the tongue, or you are truly working as a cover of a much bigger extremist grouping we don't know about to silence editors here? Isn't it ironic that you have the same mentality of the people you abhore, using very similar tactics of intimidation and spreading of fear and hatred? And on a page about an alleged murderer of two journalists? We are reporters and journalists after all, and we do our best to report impartially and comprehensively including people's pasts as rappers etc. Look, either you are an editor, and you are welcome to edit in a neutral way with substantiated referencing, or you are an agenda driven propagandist, and are just being used as a mouthpiece of those "we are watchful" you are talking about. You know, I have spent too much time already with an editor who is not worthy of editing in Wikipedia. You can go to thousands of propaganda sites available, insult anybody and everybody who doesn't agree with you and get away with it. Open a page on Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary elsewhere, put all the insults that come to your mind in English and Arabic about him, till you have your fill and marvel your achievement. But your contributions in Wikipedia are not welcome, as you dub people, gay sons of whores and pigs (ابن مثلي الجنس من عاهرة in one edit and لدي الجنس مع الخنازير in another). You should have been banned much earlier, but you still keep the semblance of actually caring about Wikipedia materials at least in this case. Clearly you know some Arabic or you wouldn't have inserted such disparaging remarks instead of his name. The days of McCarthyism are over sir. So are the days of intimidation and censorship. You have chosen a medium that is based on contributions in an encyclopedic and comprehensive manner using neutral language. Your idea of editing is selective, partial and intolerant vigilantism. Finally, this is an English-language Wikipedia, not the American National Wikipedia. Here all notable persons get coverage in equal terms. In any case, this conversation is an exemplary case of what one should say on Wikipedia pages and what one must not say. Threatening fellow editors is a big no-no among colleagues. I've had it with you as an editor "colleague" you and your despicable so-called "Carry on, but know that we are watchful" attitude of arrogance and intimidation. Me, I am watchful of all who add materials considered vandalism as far as I can. I am not available 24-hours but I do come back and diligently correct edits here on this page that I see as vandalism according to Wikipedia's standards and definitions. If I don't, other colleagues will anyway, sooner or later. Meanwhile have the satisfaction of seeing your edits pass for a few minutes or a few hours at best. werldwayd (talk) 13:26, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
First, let me say that I agree with 90% of your most recent reply wholeheartedly. I abhor censorship, and believe that, with respect to most matters in life, there is a certain "truth" that free media is obligated to uncover and make available for discussion. By no means do I mean to threaten or intimidate you, and clearly my own ignorance regarding the Wiki medium and its etiquette has been made obvious. I extend to you an apology. Look, for many of the same reasons that you've deemed me an agenda-driven propagandist, I initially concluded the same about YOU. Given what you have shared in the reply above, I now believe that I was mistaken. Yes, obviously, to publicly posit that this man is the son of a whore, etc., etc. is disparaging. However, the intent was to counter-balance what has been perceived as a sympathetic, if not empowering, editorial picture that you initially painted regarding this individual. I believe that journalistic integrity demands absolute neutrality -- and my efforts were intended to demonstrate that just as it might be inaccurate to post with a blatantly negative connotation, so too are submissions that subversively empower individuals. Think about it... What is a "rapper?" What is a "hacker?" These terms project power and have meaning. Professional labels impart legitimacy onto the individuals upon whom they're bestowed. Who are you or I to put forth before the World's eye a premise by which an individual may have been radicalized into a highly-inhumane culture? Yes, we, as men and women of our respective cultures, are unable to articulate information without some semblance of our own persuasions embedded therein; however, for each and every overly-biased presentation, there exists an equally-polarized and diametrically-opposed perspective. I believe that you and I view the subject at hand from different perspectives... We owe it to the World and Wiki, however, to find neutrality. I respectfully request that you amend your submission to acknowledge the subject (Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary) as merely an "amateur rapper," to omit empowering Abu Hussain Al-Britani as a "hacker," and to delete the text, "His father's legal ordeal and his eventual extradition to the States greatly affected Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary and served in radicalising him further." If you will please effect these revisions, then I agree that you will have produced a solid, neutral account of the subject. Thank you.
I welcome this reconciliatory tone in your latest response and this is how a discussion should be conducted. You clearly state the exact segments that you find questionable in my original edits. I also took a look at your edits here and I find them very plausible. This clearly reduces what might be conceived as "excesses" on my part. Upon study of your amendments and overall reading of the article as it stands now, I think it is more presentable. I won't challenge them. You must understand no article is owned by anybody including me. I just found two weeks ago that this individual was becoming very notable, yet there was nothing on him in Wikipedia despite tens of article in other media. Previously I knew zilch about him, so this was a learning process through research. I had no interest in promoting him in any way, just to present what he has done till now, from beginning to end, and not just his videos with the very sad and truly inhuman displays he appeared in with the helpless American journalists. So I wrote the article based on what I could find on him throughout his life. My mindset was not to be just a "recentist", meaning not to concentrate on only the very last events in the last couple of months, but to convey a continuous presentation of his life since his birth passing through his experiences in Egypt as a son of a controversial Islamist parent, experiences with the legal system in the UK, his artistic career, after all he appeared on the BBC and on various reports in hip hop media, his radicalization through preachers in the UK and his decision to fight in Syria and becoming a spokesman as a British-accented ISIL combattant and mouthpiece. You notice I also added his involvement in Sotloff's murder at least on video, so this is a developing article. I accept the most recent edits that you made as is. You may also make further edits as well if they are in the same spirit. As I said, no one owns an article in Wikipedia. Yes I had a great hand in initiating the article and most of its content, but it doesn't mean I'll have to ok all later edits on the article. On the contrary, Wikipedia and all its pages are truly collaborative efforts and all those who want to contribute in a meaningful way can. Nobody had pitched in with meaningful content, so I exerted extra effort to present him. That's all there is to it. I just hoped more editors would be interested in developing it further, but not many did... I will also take a cooling period myself and let other editors follow the page. This was a very taxing task on me and my spirit. This is not my specialty and I don't get particularly attracted to such subjects that frankly nauseate me. Anyway, the article took a lot of time and effort.. and for what? I make thousands of edits in hundreds of new subjects, I don't want this to be the article that will pre-occupy me needlessly. I have no particular desire to be the main editor about him anyway. I dislike the fellow and all he stands for. In any case, I will only intervene when there is addition of insults and curses which have no place in Wikipedia. I have a serious feeling the days of this young man are very much numbered anyway. The pace of the events that he has put himself in will overwhelm him and finally cause a quick end to his saga on the hands of foriegn forces or on the hands of the very fanatic ideologists he thinks he is serving. He chose this pace of fame and he will be held for it and pay dearly. Nothing new there either. He won't be the first nor the last victim. The history of such ideologists are full of such ends, an end that he will meet doubtlessly sooner or later, but I feel sooner. His sense of being "invincible" will be his final call for a "martyrdom for a cause" he is clearly asking for with open arms. Good riddance. werldwayd (talk) 18:35, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
