Image Copyright problem

Hi Freelk!
We thank you for uploading Image:Ananda sastralaya matugama.JPG, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Ravanahatha

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ravanahatha, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.ozlanka.com/feb08/ravana.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 04:07, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Diyasena

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Diyasena, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

WP:NOTCRYSTAL. No references / verifiable and reliable sources.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Articles for deletion nomination of Ramayana sites in Sri Lanka

edit

I have nominated Ramayana sites in Sri Lanka, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ramayana sites in Sri Lanka. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:48, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sokari

edit

A tag has been placed on Sokari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added a {{hangon}} template to an article, Ankeliya. In order for an administrator to evaluate whether the article should be speedy deleted or not, we request that you provide reasoning, on the article's talk page, for why it should remain. Thank you. Request reason:

This is a complete unfair decision from wikipedia. Some of the articles like Diyasena was published by me 2-3 months ago.But , only , yesterday , wiki popped the warnings. Then, I revised all the wiki articles published by me.If you examine the articles , no copy rights violations with the articles.I am not taling about the web sites refered by wiki.I am talking about the original source.I had to put web site names as WIKI repeatedly asked for references for the artilces.I know the copy right laws and I confirm that no copy right violation as all the sources are historic and well known among Sri Lankans.I suggest Wiki to improve the process when revising historic articles. Also, I suggest not to use harsh language when talking to users.I am also too much into IT and I know how wiki robot works.Do not black list just because you people found a reference in somewhere in the internet.

Decline reason:

If you published the websites then they are not considered reliable sources, and are more original research. You need to understand that many sites mirror Wikipedia legally, not copy. Wikipedia on the other hand cannot include copyrighted material. If you wish to give some form of permission, WP:OTRS is the place to go: that does not, however, fix the OR and non-RS aspects (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:24, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Freelk (talk) 07:07, 21 June 2010 (UTC) How does Wikipedia handle a situation where someone copies my articles in Wikipedia and publish in other web sites? or Can not I publish my own articles in my web sites to Wikipedia?? How does wiki handle cases like that?? Does Wiki just delete all my articles in Wiki saying it is copyright infringments?!!!!Reply

If you read the notice directly above the "edit summary" box when editing, you will see a notice that you "irrevocably agree to release your contributions under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL." This means that anyone will be able to publish your contributions anywhere. You can not use your own research to support articles written on Wikipedia. This is explained in the policy Wikipedia:No original research. If you have further questions please ask. Thanks Tiderolls 11:03, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

How does wiki handle cases like that?? Does Wiki just delete all my articles in Wiki saying it is copyright infringements?!!!!I will explain you an example .If I publishes an ancient poem in Wiki of which source is an ancient Book, then , WIKI requests for the reference or try to delete. In that case , If I put a reference web site name , WIKI robot guesses that web site owner is copyright holder of the poem and delete my poem in the WIKI.Is this the situation? I am unclear about Wiki Policy..U people have just deleted my efforts citing unacceptable reason and u people try to verify your observations.I did not publish my articles to WIKi for financial gains. It is just a volunteer work for common good..I am writing you as I need to enlighten you people about complicated copy right cases in ancient writings. You people focus on modern internet society only.

An unblock request should be framed in a manner that will convince an administrator that you understand the policies and guidelines of editing on Wikipedia and that you will not repeat the behaviors that prompted the block. Posting an unblock request consisting of questions and accusations of malfeasance illustrates exactly the opposite. The reasons for your block, and the policies that support the block, are adequately explained in the warnings and block notices. Please acquaint yourself with those policies and guidelines. If you need clarification, post a regular message here. Do not use the unblock template. Misuse of the unblock template could possibly result in your losing the ability to post to your talk page. Proposed deletion of Sumana

edit

Hello, Freelk. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Sumana, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Sumana to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks,

Proposed deletion of Sumana

edit

The article Sumana has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
