Stress edit

Have some cake...

Sorry to see that you're so stressed and depressed. Perhaps some cake will help you feel your best? Vandals can really put you to the test. Sorry, I'll stop with the rhyming now. What can I say? Wikipedia can be very stressful, especially at the moment. The amount of vandals, trolls, and personal attacks are sickening, but it's overwhelming to see users like you put under so much stress and hardship. If ever you need to talk about anything, I'm here for you - just drop my my talk page if ever you feel like a chat about it all. Warm wishes, Sergeant Snopake 17:52, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the rhyming, this is the first Esperanzian thing I've done, so I was kind of nervous. And it does sometimes take me 120 minutes to bath sometimes, as I always have to put body lotion on afterwards! :) Sergeant Snopake 21:35, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I didn't know you use that stuff. *files idea away for future reference* — Nathan (talk) / 06:03, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
People scream at me too, sometimes, but I love baths. Nathan, you must have known that! I told you once! You said you had coconut shampoo! Sergeant Snopake 10:45, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hmm... coconut shampoo... I like coconut. Fredil Yupigo 15:49, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Snopake: I'd send you some but my mother gave it to me and I can't find anymore of it anywhere. — Nathan (talk) / 07:45, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Can I just ask (you don't have to tell me if it's personal), why did your mother give you body lotion? I mean, my mother gives me body lotion because I use it, but I don't think she's ever given my brothers body lotion. Sergeant Snopake 14:36, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not that I'm complaining, but why is this conversation being carried out on my talk page? Fredil Yupigo 18:52, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Copied and moved to my Talk Page. Sorry. Sergeant Snopake 21:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

(no name) edit

Message was put on my user page.

Hey Fred, remember me? I didn't check to see wether or not you replied my previous edit, although I had a doubt wether or not it was actually you. If, in case, you are not Fred Yu, then please disregard this message. If you are Fred, read on. Where did you go on vacation? Was it China? Or possibly Hong Kong? (OK, I'll stop the stereotypical vacation spots for "Yu"). I'm only asking because I want to rub something in--my 1337 $$$-filled vacation in Paris,France; Mangalore,India; New York, New York; and Las Vegas, Nevada. By the way, I won $543.67 in Las Vegas when I dropped a qaurter in a slot machine and pulled the lever...that's right, the first time i really gambled, I won! HA HA HA!!! FEAR MY 1337 SKILLS!!!! And if you don't fear my 1337 skills, remeber that I'm rich, and I could buy you, and I mean "Yu". If Yu read this, please send me an email. Yu know my email address, don't Yu? PS REMEBER THE V-BROW!!! Vinnie1337 17:23, August 9, 2006 (UTC)

EDIT--

So Fred, good to see it is YU. (OK, I'll stop with the pun). Of course, I doubt you'll see the end of Dr. F. Yu! Anyways, I did read your post on my talk page--sorry for ruining your user page, I swear it was an *cough* accident *cough*. Now to brag about my vacation, which did not (thankfully enough) involve Alex stealing my suitcase with my iPod and PSP. Video games are 1/2 price in India! Same game, $30 less. Of course it doesn't matter, since I love to waste money. On another note, using the same $500 I won in Vegas, plus a few months of salary...remember, that's $200.00 a month for doing NOTHING...I bought a 50" plasma tv for my bedroom. That's right, and it looks great!! Enough about me though, I think it's time to laugh at other people! *More coughing* Jon I *more coughing*. Still, have a nice vacation, and remember that I am currently too lazy to check my user talk page or my email, meaning all 5 of my email addresses, which are vinnie12344@hotmail.com, gmail.com, and yahoo.com; vinnie123@yahoo.com; and vinnie1337@hotmail.com to actually reply to anything you send, however, I am not saying you shouldn't try but in fact that you should keep spamming me until I reply. See Yu next year!

Enjoy contemplating your existance....? If that's something to enjoy. Either way, I hope your wikistress calms down a bit, and that you can relax. -- Natalya 15:42, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear Fredil, I remember when I was thirteen, and how awkward and self-conscious I felt. You may not know why you were born or what the meaning of your existence is. For that matter, I don't know what the meaning of my existence is. I may not be the best person to give you advice, considering what I tried to do to myself, but I will say this: if you try to help other people and try to make them happy, they will remember your kindness and return it back to you. Perhaps that in itself is the meaning of life. --Kyoko 16:48, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your kindness. Just... thank you. Fredil Yupigo 17:45, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hello, Fredil! Thirteen is a tough age; it's natural to begin thinking about things such as life. I think Kyoko has at least a lot of it right when she says life is about being kind to others. True happiness cannot be found by being famous or by having wealth, a nice house, or a beautiful girlfriend. Loving others is the way to true happiness.
In my belief, though, that's only a fraction of the full recipe. The whole purpose of my life is centered around God; I believe that, no matter what happens in this lifetime, I have an eternity to be with Him when I die. To me, God is the source of all love, and only by being close with Him can we experience it to the fullest.
I'm not trying to force you to believe what I believe, I'm just stating my own personal belief of life.
I hope you find the answers you're searching for! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 19:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'll take that into consideration. Thank you all for the support, and have a good and fulfilling life. Note: Not meant as an insult. Another note: Pilhet, you can shorten your sig by removing unnecessary ''' tags.
*ahem* "a lot of it right when she says life is about being kind to others," thank you. I didn't want to get into discussion about religion because that can be a sensitive topic for many people.
Also Fredil, you wrote: "I thought of that too. She's well on her way :P" on my talk page. I don't get it. Could you please explain? Thanks.--Kyoko 02:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
It just meant that you were on your way to becoming a great and well-respected Wikipedian, like Phaedriel. Fredil Yupigo 15:16, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oh, OK. I was going through my mind what you could possibly mean: on the way to becoming an admin? On the way to getting pregnant? Thank you.
I should probably mention that if you want to talk to me, you should probably leave a message on my talk page, rather than here. Your talk page is on my watchlist, so that's how I happened to catch your replies. Still, it might be better to correspond with me there than here. Thanks again! --Kyoko 15:22, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
(← : ) Pilhet, I don't think I could have said anything better.

I myself have never had enough money to be considered "rich", so I don't think I would have felt its corrupting power myself, but I have seen other people's lives ruined by it.

As for a beautiful girlfriend: Watch them (and I don't have anything against anyone who reads this who is beautiful, especially if I don't know you). They can ruin your life, perhaps worse than money can. I have found that if you truly love someone, whether she is beautiful or he is handsome or not doesn' matter…as you grow in love, she will become beautiful and he will become handsome in your eyes because of love.

As for "She's well on her way", Fredil…why didn't I think of saying that? ;) —  $PЯINGεrαgђ  15:28, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

What do you think about religion? I've never been quite religious myself, just someone that likes to think a lot. But yes, the warnings are very true and would almost certainly be disasterous if ignored. Fredil Yupigo 15:38, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:Piano edit

Well, I don't really know, and I don't want to sound pompous by overguessing. ;) I have played about ten of Chopin's easiest nocturnes, and I'm going to tackle the Liebesträume by Liszt, but as of now that may be ahead of my level. —  $PЯINGεrαgђ  15:20, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Do you play the piano?
P.P.S. I play the guitar better than the piano, even though it's slipping now with me playing the piano more.

I play the piano at around a Grade 8/9 level. I've played a few of the easier Chopin Preludes op. 24 and am currently (unsuccesfully) attempting to play parts of Pictures at an Exhibition. I don't play any instrument other than the piano, which is fine by me. I want to get into a high school for the Arts (specifically for piano, but you probably guessed that) and for that you must be playing at least a Grade 7 RCM level. about that archived comment (not anything you wrote) edit

That comment was very hurtful for me personally, incredibly callous and immature. --Kyoko 17:43, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me, but to whom are you speaking? As I told Sceptre, I don't like to read ED because just looking at the content makes me feel dirty. I'm not the type to ridicule others either. If you were talking to Sceptre, perhaps you should leave messages on his talk page instead. Thanks. --Kyoko 18:10, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Despite your shared histories of conflicts with these users, would you please take your conversation to your respective talk pages rather than using mine? Thank you. --Kyoko 20:06, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well put it this way: if you and Will keep up this level of dialogue, you risk committing libel and slander yourselves. Both of you, I gather, are minors, but I am not, and because the conversation is on my talk page, I could technically be drawn into any potential legal troubles, as well as the Wikimedia Foundation as a whole. Please just stop it all. Take it to e-mail or something. Just not on my talk page, and preferable not anywhere on Wikipedia. I will tell Will as well. Thank you. --Kyoko 23:24, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Look Fredil, while I think you're a nice person, could you please just drop the subject and not keep posting about it on my talk page? Thank you. --Kyoko 23:37, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but yes, both you and Will are the primary causes of my stress right now on the wiki, which is why I will try to stay away from Wikipedia. It really would be better for the two of you if you both spent less time discussing the faults of other people. You should also tell Will that it's improper to share the contents of private e-mail conversations of other people without their explicit permission. Especially when those e-mail messages discuss legal matters. I'm not sure how long I'll be away. Take care, --Kyoko 00:22, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I was thinking about it, and my message doesn't seem to sink in with you. I have already asked you four times not to bring up your ED discussion on my talk page. Let me put it this way: while I will accept your apology, if you persist in bringing up this matter on my talk page, I will be forced to seek administrative action against you.
As it says on the current revision of my userpage, my apparent inability to keep other people from using my talk page as their personal chat room is making me feel powerless, and feeling powerless is making me feel depressed. I'm sorry if reading this hurts you, but I did try repeatedly to get you to stop. I'm sorry. --Kyoko 05:07, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi Fredil, thanks for your apology. I couldn't sleep, and it occurred to me that I was being a bit mean on my userpage (which I will amend slightly). I'm sorry about that. In the future, should you feel the urge to discuss the faults of other people, could you please take it to private e-mail instead? It's not very Esperanzian to engage in such behaviour. I hope you will understand if I try to stay away from Wikipedia for a short time all the same. Thank you.--Kyoko 10:39, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fredil.

I saw on Kyoko's talk page, while talking about Encyclopædia Dramatica, you wrote:

While I'm sure this was a joke, you may not be aware that adding external links to Encyclopædia Dramatica pages attacking wikipedia users is a bad idea, and could lead to a block (see this arbcom case for more info). As I say, this was probably just a joke, but I thought I'd give you this info anyway :)

think long and hard about this edit

Hello, I am stopping by briefly because from the levity of your apologies, you still don't seem to fully understand what you did.

Imagine that you're in your room, and two people whom you barely know walk in uninvited and start criticising, in a loud voice, Wikipedians whom you have never personally corresponded with. You're taken aback by their audacity at invading your space, and even more so, by their language. You beg and plead them to take it elsewhere, and finally you ask them to leave, but still they don't. You feel upset, irritated, and ultimately depressed that nothing you do will make them stop. That's how I felt and still feel to some extent.

You should also know that in discussing private legal matters on Wikipedia, you are in effect announcing them to the world.

I hope this makes my position clear to you. I'm sorry if you feel hurt by this, but you did do all of these things. I will probably be on break for a few days to a week. --Kyoko 18:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fredil, I'm just too addicted to Wikipedia to stay away. A bit unhealthy, that, but most addictions are.
I might have sounded heavy-handed in what I wrote, but my point is that you really need to learn when discretion is required. If you are so cavalier in discussing things that presumably other people have confided in you as being private or secret, why should they or anyone else trust you?
I would appreciate a more heartfelt apology, but it's not entirely necessary either. Please think about what I have said, and take this whole situation as a learning experience. Thank you.--Kyoko 22:29, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

thanks for the reversion edit

Hi Fredil, and thanks for the reversion. I looked at the edit history and saw the change (well, not the picture itself, but the description in javascript popups). In the future, you should use the templates that are listed here for warning vandals. I spent a lot of time making my own warning templates, which is why they look so different. I left a standard warning about inserting obscene content on that user's page.

I archived the whole discussion so that everything that was discussed won't be as obvious. It shouldn't be outright hidden or deleted, though. I hope you learn from this experience. --Kyoko 23:05, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

that's Phaedriel, not Phaedriel 2 edit

Hi Fredil, I just saw your userpage, and I should point out that it's just Phaedriel, not Phaedriel 2. She had been nominated for adminship in the past, but she declined. She was nominated again this year, she accepted, and she got the position of administrator. Since she had 2 requests for adminship to her name, the second nomination was called Phaedriel 2. I hope this clears things up. --Kyoko 02:22, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi! edit

Hey there Fredil! You probably don't know me, but I was vaguely following what was happening on Kyoko's talk page. I'm not going to tell you off or anything (it's been done already :p), but I do hope that all the things stressing you out resolve themselves quickly. You're a great user, and we don't want to lose you! Take some time off, maybe, to reassess what's going on.

What a... no, I'm not sure I can swear around here. Ugh. Just surprised no one warned them?
Sorry, that's the vandal-fighter speaking. Who cares if no one warned 'em. I'm really sorry about everything going on, and I really hope things manage to work themselves out.

Hi Fredil, and thanks for seconding me for the Random Smiley award! I shall try to live up to what the award represents. As other users have told the award-giver, awards like that should be placed on the talk page rather than the user page — that way, the award winner gets to see the "You have new messages" bar. Thanks again! --Kyoko 14:43, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

about red highlighting edit

Hi Fredil, I had put the date of Sceptre's Alerts listing in red, because it seemed to me that nobody was giving him any messages of support (on-wiki, anyway). I'm glad to see that you don't seem to have been hurt by what I said. Thanks, --Kyoko 01:11, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I had tried to be stern due to the repeated incursions on my talk page, yet I tried not to make my warnings personal, as I fear I did with Will. I hope he can forgive me. I'm sorry to hear that you're being bullied for being smart. I wasn't bullied for that, but it probably helps being a girl. Maybe in the future, you might find your own social niche where you won't be treated that way. --Kyoko 01:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Fredil. I decided to go ahead anyway, so you can review me at Wikipedia:Editor review/Tachikoma. Thanks for your encouragement. --Kyoko 13:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Blocking edit

Mysterious thing, that, heh. Both 24 and 31 are common defaults, though I've seen 24 used especially when it comes to 3RR blocks -- more often than not, the extra 7 hours effectively block the user for another day, since they'll usually cover whatever time of day the user edits in (school, work, free time, whenever). Or something like that. It's a bit of an odd personal preference, I s'pose. :) Luna Santin 05:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

re: pronouns edit

Hi there, and thanks for changing the editor review box. When I added the template, I didn't even think about modifying it. I simply cut and pasted it from the original page. Thanks for checking it, and I hope that you will partcipate. I value your opinion. --Kyoko 23:57, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

you are quite welcome edit

Hi Fredil, you are very welcome. I do want to guide you when you make a mistake, but I also don't want to come across as overbearing or intrusive (something I remember thinking about my parents, teachers, etc. when I was your age). I'm honoured that not only do you consider me your friend, but you think that I'm the best example of one on Wikipedia. *blushes* I think of you as a friend as well.--Kyoko 14:10, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Userpage Marriage edit

Actually it happened at 18. But yeah, most people, even here in my hometown are surprised. —  $PЯINGεrαgђ  22:19, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fw: personal update edit

Hi there, I'm now being allowed a limited time online during my hospital stay. I don't have the time to respond to everyone, so I have to make this fast. Doctors have increased my dosage of sertraline, and they hope the increased dosage combined with more frequent therapy sessions will help stabilise my mood. I hope to be out of here by the weekend. Please spread the word for me, OK? As a side note, I am extremely concerned about User:Editor at Large. Wish me luck. Well, I don't really know what to say. I had similar feelings when I was your age. Would you rather me reply here or in e-mail? —  $PЯINGrαgђ  Always loyal! 02:33, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
