This draft reads like an advertisement, but Wikipedia is not for advertising.

This draft is written from the viewpoint of the company, focusing on what the company says about itself. Corporate notability is based on what independent reliable sources have written about the company.

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Fluidforming

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Fluidforming, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. ceranthor 17:52, 15 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

This isn't self promotion, this is a legitimate patented industrial discovery bettering the metal framing market. We were not aware by using our Company name we would initiate red flags and blocked content. We added the conflict of interest disclosure as well to the top of the Users:FluidForming Americas page

Decline reason:

You have not selected a new username as instructed that reflects an individual is using this account. You will also need to agree to stop directly editing about your company or its products/patents in order to be unblocked. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 18:14, 15 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Again reason for unblock: This isn't self promotion, this is a legitimate patented industrial discovery bettering the metal framing market. We were not aware by using our Company name we would initiate red flags and blocked content. We added the conflict of interest disclosure as well to the top of the Users:FluidForming Americas page. We were not editing any other information, simply created the page so the patented technology is discoverable for all.

Decline reason:

Re: "The reason why we wanted to create this page was so the patented technology is discoverable for users within the market..." (below) - that purpose is called marketing, aka promotion, and Wikipedia is not a free marketing/promotion platform. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:20, 15 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'll also add that the draft you created was written in a blatantly promotional style from start to finish. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:33, 15 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Someone else will review your request. If you patented your technology, why do you want to now distribute it to the world? That, by the way, is a promotional purpose. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources state about article subjects. In order for you to be successful, you would need to forget everything you know about this technology and only write based on what independent sources state. While it is possible, most people cannot do that. 331dot (talk) 18:26, 15 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

You are completely misunderstanding what this page is. The distribution of this technology is irrelevant, hence why there was no mention of it within the content. The reason why we wanted to create this page was so the patented technology is discoverable for users within the market, providing a more convenient, efficient and environmentally friendly option for metal forming. Also, our goal is to make the general public aware of this new patented technology which proactively avoids any occurrence of illegal replication, therefore alleviating the frustration of court and trial. We are more than happy to have a third party create the page, but it needs to be on record that we are blatantly stating this was NOT meant for promotional purposes for future use of our Wikipedia account.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Fluidforming Americas (talkcontribs)
This appears to be an effort to use Wikipedia to advertise. Using corporate or organizational resources to advertise via Wikipedia is an ineffective and sub-optimal use of those resources. A better way to advertise a business or non-profit organization is to spend the resources on improving your own web site.
