Welcome!

Hello, EvilFlyingMonkey, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  . dave souza, talk 20:17, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Northwest Creation Network edit

A tag has been placed on Northwest Creation Network requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. 9Nak (talk) 16:20, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Mosquito bat edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mosquito bat, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Largely orphaned and lacking anything close to notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. magnius (talk) 23:21, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Problems with upload of File:Barack Obama and Ann Dunham.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Barack Obama and Ann Dunham.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:05, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:BlueJ 2.5.0.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:BlueJ 2.5.0.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:06, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:BlueJ 2.5.0.png edit

A tag has been placed on File:BlueJ 2.5.0.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

Spam and Santosh edit

Re. your enquiry, the user page looks like a spam article which was "userfied" by the editor when it was speedy deleted, which is commonly allowed to give an editor the opportunity to improve a draft article enough to be added as an article once the problems have been resolved: in that case it needs verification from reliable secondary sources showing that the subject is notable, as well as a rewrite so that it's not just an advert. The previous content of the Santosh article was as follows:

Santosh Madhavan alias Swami Amrita Chaitanya is a fraud Godman in Kerala. He is wanted in many fraudulent cases registerd with Kerala Police and Dubai Police. Now it is stated that he is in wanted list of Interpol.Arrest warrent has been issued for him on 11-05-2008 ,but he has escaped arrest and is missing for a few days.He is the No personality covered in malayalam media these days.He owns a reteat centre called Shantitheerem in Kochi.

Don't think that has much that's missing from the current article, and don't forget WP:BLP if you're thinking of adding something. Hope that helps, . . dave souza, talk 18:05, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Danger From The Deep edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Danger From The Deep, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Not notable yet. May be in the future, but WP:CRYSTAL and all that.

Articles for deletion nomination of Danger From The Deep edit

I have nominated Danger From The Deep, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Danger From The Deep. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Scjessey (talk) 18:48, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

João Víctor edit

You tagged the article João Víctor as csd-A10, but in fact it was about someone different. I turned João Víctor into a disambiguation page. If there are problems with an article about a Brazilian person, it is sometimes worthwhile to check the Portuguese Wikipedia. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 22:02, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for that. Anyway thanks for pointing that out. --EvilFlyingMonkey (talk) 09:29, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rollback edit

Thanks for your question on my talk page.

I am an administrator, so I have access to a "rollback" link. You probably don't have that link, so to undo a series of edits look at the article's history, go to the version that you want to revert to (by clicking the version's date link), and then click "edit this page". Saving it (with an edit summary please) will then take the page back to the version you selected. Don't worry about getting it wrong a few times - you'll soon get the hang of it!

If fighting vandalism is something you enjoy, and after you have a long history of positive edits in your contributions history, it may be worth your asking for access to the rollback function. There's more about how to do that at WP:ROLLBACK.

Best wishes, and keep up the good work! RobertGtalk 11:31, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mtiuluri & Khevsuruli edit

Hi, I've taken the liberty of removing your speedy deletion tag from some pages that you tagged as A3, to change them to redirects. If you think I fucked up, you're welcome to revert my edits. ^____^ Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 15:36, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham edit

I was aware that Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has 2 campuses in Kerala, but the question of adding it to the Kerala template is a confusing one, since the university has its headquarters in Coimbatore. Anyways I have added it back to the template. Cheers! --JovianEye (talk) 04:22, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Harsh Snehanshu edit

I prodded Harsh Snehanshu, an article you tagged for speedy deletion, to give other editors the chance to establish notability. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 09:04, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Elephant Evolution edit

Has this project been abandoned? I would love to see it produced into an article even if it is unfinished. Some information is better than none! :) A. Z. Colvin • Talk 23:33, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't like to abandon it. But I am not an expert on the subject. And I am currently in a new college and quite busy. I still have not got the library and computer center card. Even if I got on half the sites on the net are blocked by Untangle so I do not think I will be able to collect even needed information. You and like minded people are welcome to help. Thanks. --EvilFlyingMonkey (talk) 14:15, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am not an expert on this particular subject either, but I can try and do some research to organize and merge the article into a coherent and readable page. It won’t be perfect I don’t think, and from the looks of it, other articles on taxa evolution are not of great superiority. Thanks for the hasty response! A. Z. New deal for page patrollers edit

Hi EvilFlyingMonkey,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
