DYK for Desiree Jennings controversy edit

On November 19, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Desiree Jennings controversy, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

AfD nomination of Desiree Jennings controversy edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Desiree Jennings controversy. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Desiree Jennings controversy. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:28, 2 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, I've finally nominated this for deletion. This incident seemed to me to have run its course and fizzled out into blog-versus-blog sniping. I've summarised what reliable sources there are about this in 2009_flu_pandemic_vaccine#Dystonia. I'm sorry that you put so much work into this article, but it has probably served its purpose in informing the public by now (if you look at the article stats views have shrunk back down from when the story was in the papers). Tim Vickers (talk) 19:44, 2 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I rather suspect the spike in views was due to the Wiki article being linked from the front page under DYK. EvanHarper (talk) 03:43, 4 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

List of Billionaires edit

Hi. Your input is very welcome on the question of creativity involved in Forbes' listing of billionaires, but please do not remove copyright templates as you did at List of billionaires (2009). Now that this article has been tagged, this needs to remain in place while the question is settled. I'm very familiar with Feist but it has not yet been explained the degree to which human creativity is or is not included in the Forbes' listing. Prior discussion on the issue at that page suggests these are not straightforward figures. If you have input particularly on how they derive their listings, if it is not a simple consideration of assets as some have asserted there, that would be very much appreciated. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:18, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay, you're right that I shouldn't have done that. I admittedly didn't read the ridiculous wall-of-text down to the point where it says "don't edit this page." I still think it's classic Wikipedian copyright-paranoia here, though. EvanHarper (talk) 19:50, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't know; it might be. I have no clue how they come up with that list. :/ I've tried looking for something definitive, but I haven't come up with anything yet. Getting feedback on list articles is a pain. But you did remind me that List of billionaires itself was still blanked, which I've remedied, because whether it's copyrightable or not it's surely fair use. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:56, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Epistemic closure edit

You made a thoughtful change, but I don't think it's the right decision. I anticipate that this article is going to get thousands of views very soon, so I started a thread at the village pump. Please chime in. 128.59.181.17 (talk) 01:59, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Imprimis edit

Hello. You recently removed the tags placed on Imprimis, which you recently created. To avoid these in the future, and possibly even a speedy deletion, try creating the article in your user space fully before moving into the main space. - ηyχαμς 17:15, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

It was a properly formatted stub article, complete with a reliable-source reference, categories, and a stub template. The tagging was overzealous and uncalled for. EvanHarper (talk) 17:19, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
