Personal AttacksThose attack you received were very harsh, but wikipedia has a strong policy against personal attacks, in the event of persistent harsh personal attacks the user can be indef blocked without warning, you did the right think by reporting him to aiv, if it happens again report him to aiv and he will probably receive a long or indef block. --Lwarf Talk! 10:08, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
ReplyNo problem. You've dealt with the vandal in the right way, sometimes they get annoyed because their edits are reverted (obviously!), that's normal :) Blatant vandalism is always to be reported to AIV. Re Healthy Skepticism pageYou objected to the promotional tone of my first article for Wikipedia. I cut things out & it has survived. So thank you, if this was your decision. Scientizzle added tags re notablility which I've attempted to address. Are you able to check what I've done and remove tags? He/she hasn't got around to it yet. In your objection to: "It has concentrated recently on raising awareness amongst health professionals of their vulnerability to the distorting influence that marketing techniques have on their decisions", I am sure you are not disputing that that has been the focus of Healthy Skepticism's work. So you must be questioning either that health professionals are vulnerable or that the marketing has a distorting influence. I can cite 41 original studies from the medical literature showing that pharmaceutical promotion influences prescribing decisions (and why else would companies spend billions on it?) However a discussion of the issue within the article makes the article less about the organisation - but maybe that's what is necessary? Re notability. Also a bit difficult, so any advice you can give is appreciated. Please see the article's discussion page. But also, as Healthy Skepticism works mainly in the professional sphere (journals, conferences) and the issues it deals with are fairly complex, the evidence of its influence is not abundant in the mainstream media. There are articles BY Healthy Skepticism in major medical journals about particular issues with drugs (including an editorial in the British Medical Journal), but the article is not about those issues. Members of the Healthy Skepticism executive are interviewed frequently by journalists seeking assistance & background information for stories about pharmaceutical companies/regulation/policy but that assistance is rarely acknowledged publicly. However I will try to work some more references TO Healthy Skepticism into the article. There are some. Perhaps it is also worth noting that the systems currently in place for developing, manufacturing and marketing drugs affect the health of every person on the planet. Those like Healthy Skepticism who seek to bring about improvement in those systems work against enormous interests vested in the status quo. I think we could have quite a long discussion about the assumptions that inform the "neutral" point of view in this area. Thanks for your help thus far. I will state the organisation's main aim as a quote from its mission statement, which is easy enough. Justifying the use of the word "misleading" in the rest of the article will need to be done in general terms, because it is not possible to explain in one article what was wrong with what is now hundreds of advertising claims the organisation has questioned in nearly 25 years of work. I chose the appetite stimulants and anabolic steroids because I thought it would be easy for the general public to understand that these were not suitable products to promote in a place like Bangladesh. To understand what is misleading about many of the claims made in promotion to health professionals, one needs to get into complex medical and statistical issues. Scat Metha DeletionYou deleted my article on Scat Metha. Scat Metha was a Major League Baseball player for the Detroit Tigers. It is my understanding that, under the Wiki Baseball project, Wikipedia is seeking article on all Major League baseball players. My article on Scat Metha was part of that effort. FamecityThanks for reminding me that I'd forgotten about this page. Sorry that you needed to remind me. I've just posted the following on Anthony.bradbury's talk page: At 11:42, 23 June 2007 (UTC), Eliz81 placed a message starting "A tag has been placed on Famecity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia." on my talk page. This has never happened to me before, so I'm not exactly sure what to do. From Eliz81's posting, I deduced (perhaps wrongly) that I needed to place { { hangon } } on that page, and then leave a note on the talk page. So clicked on the blue link to that page, and was greeted by "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name". So I clicked on the deletion log and saw: Six minutes. Wow! That certainly is "speedy deletion"!! So please advise: Given that I can't put "hangon" on the page because it no longer exists, what should I do now? And then completely forgot about it. (And I don't know what happened to the note!)) Tagging of Nick Hern BooksI recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Nick Hern Books. I do not think that Nick Hern Books fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because the link to the firm's web site provides pleanty of context for any editor who wants to expand on this. Also a google search on "Nick Hern Books" -Amazon -Wikipedia returns over 49,000 hits -- this seems to be a reasoanbly notable specialist publisher. Obviously this is a minimal stub and should be expanded if possible, but anyone who is intersted should have no trouble findining out what this article is about, and that is the standard for "no context" speedy deletes, IMO. I request that you consider not re-tagging Nick Hern Books for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 20:39, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

I thought I had made a copy of my changed page-with-Assertion-of-Notability, but I can't find my copy. If any of you can resurect the "new" page and put a copy of it in User talk:Pdfpdf/Famecity that would be appreciated. Pdfpdf 15:36, 24 June 2007 (UTC) About the TZHS school page.....You may have gotten the wrong IP address when you corrected the vandalism there because you targeted ME as the perpetrator. I go to TZHS (you may not care) as a student and tried to see if there was a page on it. When I found it, I had already seen the sentence you deleted, so I couldn't have been the one who wrote that. Look, I don't mean for this comment to have a mean-spirited tone, just know that I didn't vandalize the page. It may have just been my friend (I know that kid who "isn't cool"). If you want proof, just check the history page, you'll see that a person with a different IP address is responsible for the vandalism, and I only changed it by deleting a fragment.
