OK; I admit it's kinda ugly because I wanted to save some horizontal space by not introducing the (semi-)blank column for non-city municipalities. The bigger problem, though, is that the old boxes don't show collapsed by default anymore (due to change in wikisoftware). I'll add the blank column, so please let me know if it's aesthetically better. Duja 08:57, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Look, it's possible to convert them to look more like the old layout; I have mixed feelings about the "2-column format" myself. See this version. Just please, don't revert wholesale; the expanded version takes more space than the many of the articles where it's attached to. Duja 09:34, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Duja, your changes mess up the colours (a particularly eye-raping purple?! What are you smoking?), the padding, the "preglednost" - all because it doesn't collapse (as I understand it). I'll return it to the stable version, and we can work out what needs to be changed without messing up a template displayed in 100+ articles. --Еstavisti 09:42, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

And now that I've returned the current version, I see it DOES auto-collapse, so I really don't see what the problem is.--Еstavisti 09:44, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

It DIDN'T auto-collapse during the past month. Apparently, they changed something again; here are some clues what happened, but now it doesn't work according to the docs. The light-violet color was the default for the class, and it is customizable anyway using the color= parameter. Duja 09:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Duja/Revert, don't discuss edit

There are a few links to WP:TRUTH there, which don't really make sense. It's a humorous essay about people who view themselves as bearers of absolute truth, in spite of anything else. Maybe try to find a different target? -Amarkov blahedits 21:13, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, never mind, I didn't see the humor. I would recommend making that clearer, because it sounds plausible up to the mention of sockpuppetry. -Amarkov blahedits 21:16, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Brisanje user-pagea edit

Haj! Već dugo vremena nisam aktivan na Wikipediji. Povremeno nešto sitno napravim, ali ništa posebno. Međutim, kako sam ionako tankih živaca, ne treba mi ono što se događa na mojoj talk-stranici. Prvo mi stanoviti Catalyst in Societyusername edited re username change Coppertwig (talk) 03:19, 16 January 2008 (UTC) ide s nekim nacionalističkim spikama pa ga pokušavam urazumit. Hvala. Jakiša Tomić 13:58, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

User & talk page deletion is generally against The Rules (I've been asked a similar question before), so I just archived the talk and made the notice of your retirement (you could have done that yourself, as well as the "password randomization"). I'm sorry to see you leave; one less sane contributor from The Balkans. Your grievance against Aldux (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) was uncalled for -- he was merely systematically removing the votecanvassing (again, a usual thing). Not that it matters much now... Duja 15:22, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use of Catch 22 on user talk page edit

You're an administrator; please set a good example and remove your own fair use violation on Dragon_flight's userpages. I understand your intention, and don't want to revert you myself, but it's not within policy to do so, even with good intentions. Have you considered Image:B-25-J35 Mitchell 45-8811 a.jpg or something else from the B-25 Mitchell article? Most are GFDL/governmentally public domain images. -- nae'blis 22:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Done. I meant to remove/replace it myself when DF reads it, but I think I found a suitable one. Duja 08:13, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

This message is being sent to some of the active users listed on Wikipedia:Greek and Turkish wikipedians cooperation board/Participants because there are concerns that Hrisi Avgi may not conform to WP:NPOV (specifically, that it's being written from a pro-Neo-Nazi perspective). By the way, why don't you redirect your old user page to the new one? It would help reducing the confusion, and it's not really a secret anyway. Duja 22:13, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Because the whole point was to stop internet detectives googling my username :) --Hadžija 22:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
And, what's in that blog (I only skimmed over it) that reveals your personal information and/or expresses your opinions otherwise unknown to other wikipedians? I mean, involvement of a "new" user into "old" topics tends to ignite curiosity (at least, that's what ignites mine) and inclines other users to start sniffing around. And the username change is not really a secret. As you wish, in any case. Duja 08:02, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unilateral page moves edit

Can something be done about this user: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Axem_Titanium He simply move names of pages about various peoples to very bad titles with no discussions with other users. Can he be warned not to do this or something like that? PANONIAN (talk) 22:51, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please post such things on WP:AN or talk directly to the user; I'm not usually around to fix the issue, and, besides, I'm not a cop. As I get it, he was simply (a bit overly) bold in "fixing" the titles — he got most of those right but some wrong. I'll discuss with him. Duja 08:10, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Help: Translation edit

Thanks. And, what about the tidbit about "he drowned" not being reflexive in Spanish? Duja 14:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is a mistake, I think. In Spanish, to drown is said ahogar(se): "Pedro se ahogó". It can be used in non-reflexive meaning as well: "Pedro ahogó a la gata". I think that it would be the same in Italian but Aldux should be able to confirm this. Asteriontalk 20:00, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

With what pleasure and joy, you come into harbors seen for the first time

Don't expect Ithaka to make you rich. Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey
And, if I, one of your fellow-travellers, can offer something
To make this journey of yours even more fascinating and enjoyable
This is my assistance with anything I can help.

I'm certain that re-instating his indefinite ban is appropriate. I mean, come on - two seconds after he gets unblocked, he gets straight back into edit warring, POV pushing, unwillingness to discuss - i admit I was a bit out of line with a few personal attacks on him, but you can't blame me for losing my cool when dealing with someone who just doesn't listen to reason. If there was any justice in the world, he would be banned and never given another chance since he will never change his ways. Anti-Bosniak sentiment revert edit

Can't really see any problem with the article, just states what happened during the "war", Bosniak civilians being killed and transported to camps, you are disputing the obvious, to me it is even more unacceptable to deny the murder of 200.000 human beings including 20.000 children by the arkanci. Sanski most is well known. I will have to revert, if I'd go around and pov-mark articles like you do, half of the serbian ones would be marked long time ago. My humble greatings Ancient Land of Bosoni

And in what way does these edits qualify within the frames of a personal attack, oh perhaps unless it's your IP-number. Which I think it is. Ancient Land of Bosoni

And third, I've been put on the noticebord by serbian users at least a dozens of times, but the admins had the good sense of recognizing the whole deal as a nonsense. As much as we've both been on wikipedia I can't see any logic or success in a report for your matter. Ancient Land of Bosoni

Duja, I must say you surprised me with your good faith. I know I got out of hand in the edit summit but this user's been bugging me by constantly disrupting perfectly fine articles that are close to heart. And the Serbophobia article is just fine, it's not crap. Serbs too have been discriminated through history perhaps most notably by the ustashe and ottomans. This should be written in that article Ancient Land of Bosoni

I've noticed you've become an admin to my surprise, I remember that you applied a long time ago but was put down. So I guess this means you could in practice easily block anyone who's not an admin? You've become influencial suddenly :O Ancient Land of Bosoni
I agree 100% with the middle ground! Good work Duja Ancient Land of Bosoni

Zdravo Duja. I of course agree that every article should be substantially cited with reliable sources. But to be specific what part of the text makes you suspicious, is it the thing with illyrians or Celts/Goths or perhaps both? / Ancient Land of Bosoni

Mostly Celts/Goths. Actually, I don't like its location at the top of the main article very much (only my personal view), but that's another issue. Duja 09:38, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Aha okey I see, but would it calm your mind if I'd remove the celts/goths parts then? Do you agree that the illyrian/slav mixture then doesn't need any citation? like you said everyone knows that the sky is blue! I recently had some problems in the Bosnian war article. An anonymous user reverts my UN cited statement on rapes. Isn't it vandalism to revert substantially sourced statements? Take a look will you?, I feel like we've created some kind of wikipedia trust for each other or sumthin :) I will not be on wikipedia for the weekend, me and a couple friends are off to a casino to try our luck with both the chips and the ladies ;) (yes I know I'm braging, but what the heck!) Serbophobia edit

Hi Duja, thanks for User:Duja/Revert, don't discuss. I knew all that inside - I just never put it so clearly into words. On a less serious note; if you have time I would appreciate getting your views on the current version of Serbophobia. I notice that the majority of interest in the article is confined solely to its existence. Its content seems not to matter at all to most of the editors who line up at the AfDs. If you have some suggestions for improvement, please post them either my user page or Serbophobia:discusion; depending where you think will be most effective in improving the article. leaving the srebrenica massacre article? edit

Duja, read that you were leaving (walking away from) the Sreb. massacre article. Understandable if the frustration of editing in that type of climate gets to you but bad for the article. On a controversial topic like this I like to think that the more persons involved the better. Decreases the chance of the article becoming hijacked by an active minority (which has sometimes been the case). All the best Osli73 22:02, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just applied a systematic rollback of his last ~100 spam messages where it was easy after I strongly warned him (a common routine in WP:CANVASS violation); a few did remain. In any case, I guess most of the people read it because "You got new message" pops anyway; the message doesn't hurt too much as the "internet petitions" are utterly stupid. Montenegrin- edit

Greetings. I'd like to call your attention to pages like Montenegrin American, Montenegrins of Serbia, Montenegrins of Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc. I should state my own POV - I'm as much of a Serb nationalist as is possible without actually being Serb, so naturally the promotion of a fake Montenegrin ethnos is deeply lamentable to me. But on the other hand, these pages were created by an avowed Montenegrin separatist, and appear to have serious verifiability issues, and to be identifying people as Montenegrin against their will (or against historical fact). As for Montenegrin Americans, the term has very few Google hits, most of them to our site; the US government (rather bizarrely) considers Montenegrins not as a separate ethnicity but as a subset of Macedonians (incidentally another Tito-created ethnicity, but probably one with more staying power); the external link leads to a pro-independence site; there is no evidence of a Montenegrin American identity; when the people on the list came to the US it was probably long before the emergence of Montenegrin separatism; and finally the people themselves are all red links, which raises notability concerns. For Montenegrins in Russia: is there any evidence that Bulatovich was specifically a Montenegrin, and considered himself one? For Montenegrins of Serbia: half the people there are self-declared Serbs! (As are, incidentally, many, many citizens of Montenegro itself.) As for BiH, again, can we really identify Tadić as a Montenegrin?

Sorry to throw all these questions at you, but I think they're worth asking. Biruitorul 04:50, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

ZOMG. WP:POINT on WP:POINT. I'm fairly eager to get rid of all this WP:POVFORKs including, but not limited to, Serbs of Montenegro. Once the evil spirit is released, though, it's fairly difficult to get it back into the bottle where it belongs to: AfDs become an exercise in meatpuppeting and WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS arguments. I'm not sure how to proceed... any ideas? Duja 08:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, some I don't have such a big problem with, like Montenegrins of Croatia - they're census-recorded, the links seem legitimate, and it doesn't make absurd claims. For some of the others, though, I suppose either an AfD might be in order or, at the very least, cutting out unsourced material and starting anew. Perhaps there are other Serbs who might have ideas? I see that the Serb notice board is pretty much dead. Biruitorul 17:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Straw poll on Srebrenica massacre edit

As a result of persistent edit warring on Srebrenica massacre, I have proposed that a straw poll be taken regarding one of the issues involved—namely, how to title the section currently named "Alternative views". This will help us to determine whether there is a consensus on what to title this section, or at least a consensus on what not to call it. The straw poll can be found at Talk:Srebrenica_massacre#Straw poll on "Alternative views" section. I have posted this announcement to each of the 19 users who have made multiple edits to Srebrenica massacre this year. —Psychonaut 13:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Kirby edit

Honestly, you have a serious bias problem. I've established that the population of all towns with Kirby in their name does not exceed the sales figures of the latest Kirby game in a single month. Even 20x the combined population is less than Kirby: Squeak Squad's sales. So even if we assume that 200,000 people are interested in this list of towns, people who bought a Kirby game in Christmas still outnumber them (and then there's the 900,000 in Japan and other people who would be genuinely interested in the game but haven't bought it). So if a single game in a series of MANY games is more well-known than all of those towns combined x20, how much more well-known is the character and the franchise? - A Link to the Past (talk) 08:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think that your initial move, which was against any consensus or consent that I can find on the Talk:Evolution page much better fits the description, causing ~2000 broken links and creating several double redirects in the way. Go and conduct a proper WP:RM if you think it's not the primary use. Duja 13:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Bosniak edit

Hello Jugoslav. I'm seeking some advice on how to best handle the repeated display of uncivility by User:Bosniak. You may remember that User:Psychonaut complained about User:Bosniak on AN/I recently (now archived at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive200#Bosniak resuming disruptive activity), citing a list of concerns including incivility. At that time, you argued that User:Bosniak's behaviour had improved since the last block, and I endorsed your statement. However, I now regret having done this.

If you followed Talk:Srebrenica massacre, you will have seen that User:Bosniak continued making unacceptable posts (at least, they're unacceptable in my opinion). The incident that made me decide to take action is the following:

  • User:Bosniak taunts User:Nikola Smolenski about the recent report of the UN regarding Kosovo: (diff)
  • I remove this post, as it does not help Wikipedia, and I ask User:Bosniak not to do that again (diff, admittedly probably not the best wording on my part, but it's not the first time)
  • User:Bosniak puts a faux userbox on Nikola's talk page with the text "I don't understand how can you not understand the fallacies of your arguments?' (diff)

This leads me to conclude that User:Bosniak will not listen to me and that only blocks will change his behaviour. So, I'm considering whether to post at AN/I, or do a user-RfC, or an RfAr. My first thought go towards AN/I. I hoped that you could give me some advice (if you think that it would help if you had a word with him, please go ahead).

Thanks in advance. Cheers, Jitse Niesen (talk) 13:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your efforts. I'll wait in the hope that it will help. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 11:45, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yep, the problem is that he's capable of arguing his point in a civil manner, but likes to bite. We'll see... Duja 12:00, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sklocke sockpuppet edit

Hi, as the blocking admin of Sklocke (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), would you please review this? I assume you're more familiar with the case. Duja 15:52, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Support the indef block. Harassment of User:BiancaOfHell and page moves are both part of User:Sklocke and his socks' vandalism patterns. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up ® 16:00, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Albrecht von Buxthoeven edit

Hello Duja! I noticed your relisting of Talk:Albrecht von Buxthoeven at RM. Considering that there were no objections to it after a week of listing and another user agreed with my rationale, shouldn't we be bold and move the article? Olessi 06:00, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Be my guest :-). Feel free to move it yourself; at least, you made a nice research. Duja 10:05, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Move completed, thanks for the interest! Olessi 16:58, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Poke edit

Hey Duja, could you please check out this and this? I think it's fine to just say "Bosniaks". If people want to see their alternate names, they can simply click on the link. Anyways, please let me know what your opinion is on the matter. Thanks, Khoikhoi 10:55, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mu. Sorry to disappoint you, but either version is fine with me; I'm fighting "Serbia genocidal state" and "Bosniaks are of Serbs who betrayed their origins", and you're asking me whether a nitpick clarification is called for? :-). Duja

Serbia Vandalism edit

Zdravo opet :)

I noticed that over the past week there has been a lot of vandalism on the Serbia article. I think it's time to semi-protect the article again. The last time it was semi-protected (when HipiZhdripi vandalised it last year), it helped stop the vandalism for quite a while. Хајдук Еру (Talk || Cont) 00:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Trolling on Talk:Arvanites edit

Duja, could you perhaps help keep an eye on Talk:Arvanites? There's again that anon troll, "Dodona", with his off-topic rants, and getting into ethnic slurs again. I told him he'd get blocked if he continues, but I'm not sure I should do the block myself. Fut.Perf. 11:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Revert edit

Why did you reverted last edition on my user page? I didn't sow that this is vandalism --Jovanvb 18

Duja, edit

Hi Duja. I thought you were Serbian (well I guess you are), but based on the information you posted on your website, you are also a Bosnian. In fact, you were born and lived in the region I came from. No matter how you feel, you are full blooded Bosnian, and I am glad you are respecting your Bosnian roots and not trying to vandalize Srebrenica Genocide article. I have sent you an email, so drop me a line. Cheers. Bosniak 19:04, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

He also wrote to other users about you "Although he is Serb, I think he's a good user"

I thought you ought to know this. --PaxEquilibrium 21:32, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Name change edit

Can you change name of Illyrida article to Ilirida. Yahoo search show that Ilirida is in fact most common name used for it, so name of the article should be changed and my move button does not work in this case. PANONIAN (talk) 17:07, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Golubac chaos edit

Hi! I don't know if you're watching my talk page at this point, or just stopped in that once, but there's another point of confusion... Any chance you can shed some light on it, too, like you so nicely did for Kočina krajina? -Bbik 20:49, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
