Civil Air Patrol article

edit

Hello Brian,

I see that you created a page called Westover Composite Squadron. As someone who wants to see Wikipedia coverage of the Civil Air Patrol improve, I commend your effort. That said, I don't know that the article will survive here as a standalone article. I do not believe that any individual squadron of the CAP has yet been shown to be notable enough to have its own Wikipedia article. Issues with the article include the following:

  • notability (see the standard it needs to meet by clicking here)
  • sourcing (needs good citations, preferably from outside the CAP and USAF)
  • style (needs to read and sound like an encyclopedia article, not an essay or promotional piece)

Overcoming these issues may be difficult. It might work better to summarize the unique information about the unit (with those all-important citations) and add it as a paragraph about the unit in the article that is about wing. This would improve the wing article while avoiding the unit's lack of notability as an issue here.

Although I see another user has given you a "welcome" message, I'm going to redo the message below with a template version that has more (and very convenient) links that will help you as you continue to edit here on Wikipedia!  Etamni | ✉  05:59, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
