Speedy deletion of Mark Hall (musician)

A tag has been placed on Mark Hall (musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. PoinDexta1 07:04, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Ben Kasica

I notice that you manually added his age to his infobox. There's a template that automatically add the person's age at the end called {{birth date and age}}. If you run into that problem in the future, please change the template. Royalbroil 12:14, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Deletions

I see that everyone keeps wanting to delete articles that you are working on. Two comments: 1) Articles about Christian music articles are always hard to work on because everyone doesn't understand how the Christian music scene works. Reliable sources are thought to be non-reliable to most other editors. 2) Most importantly, you need to do a much better job of providing the reliable sources that it takes to keep an article. Before I start an article on a topic that might want to be deleted, I make sure that it somehow EASILY meets the notability standards in some way. The easiest way to do this is to ensure that there are multiple (at least 2 but preferably at least 4) reliable sources from something that the subject can't control. That means you can't count their official website or myspace accounts toward the total. Album reviews from independent website are excellent, as well as Jesus Freak Hideout, Christianity Today, cmcentral.com, ... Let me know when you start an article and I'll help you out. Royalbroil 03:49, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for asking. Some sources for Flynn Adams with varying degrees of reliability: [1], [2], [3], [4]... Flynn is the type of person that I avoid. You're going to have trouble meeting WP:MUSIC. The best articles are about an act with a charting single or national tour. Royalbroil 11:59, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Djc, I was noticing your work with Christian music articles, such as The Becoming (band). In relation to the above discussion, I must concur with Royalbroil - I noticed Flynn on the Gotee roster and considered making an article. However, even though he's signed onto a record label, he hasn't received much "significant" coverage on other music info websites.
For bands or biographies, WP:MUSIC usually falls into two categories: 1) the artist needs to have won an award, major talent competition, get Gold certified, or have a well-charting radio single. 2) The artist has multiple info pages and news articles about them, from sources that are not related to them. Newer, but notable, bands tend to have a mix of the reliable source coverage (2) and some chart success (1). That's just what I've noticed, and those are the signs of notability to look for. I'm an active member at WikiProject Christian music, so let me know if you have questions. :-) JamieS93 03:45, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Christian ministry. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Q T C 05:31, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Please stop. Wikipedia is not censored. Any further changes which have the effect of censoring an article, such as you did to Vector marketing, will be regarded as vandalism. If you continue in this manner, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Removing lines to make the company look good. Please adhere to Wikipedia's POV guidelines. Religious ministry (Christian)

Hi! Could you explain what you meant by "Most Christians prefer not to have Christianity and religion confused"? I mean, Christianity is a religion, right? It seems I'm not the only one who's confused about that comment on the talk page. Jafeluv (talk) 12:18, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

I respect your viewpoint, but I'm not convinced that it's one that the majority of Christians share. It might be better to avoid presenting such views as unquestionable facts, especially if you have a strong opinion on the subject. I agree with your view that Christian ministry is a better name for the article, however. Jafeluv (talk) 22:17, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
I agree with your point, in part. The problem is stating that "most" Christians hold this view. Many Evangelicals feel their faith is a relationship and not a just religion. You would have to back the "most" with a reliable source. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:12, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

They clearly don't meet the criteria as set-out in WP:BAND. On what grounds are you contesting the deletion? The fact that you moved another article out of the way is even worse. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:41, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Please don't add non-reliably-sourced claims into articles of living persons. Corvus cornixtalk 03:46, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

April 2011

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Jasmine (American singer). Thank you. Corvus cornixtalk 03:50, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

This is your last warning; the next time you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory or otherwise controversial content into an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Jasmine (American singer), you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

Hyland

Hi Djc, please review my edits to your article on Hyland (band), they relate to our earlier discussion regarding the need for third-party sources (see Wikipedia:Third-party sources). The edits are intended to be helpful. You might decide that it is simply better not to make some of the claims being made using non-independent sources. I think your article is good enough to stick and should not be deleted. Good effort! -MrFizyx (talk) 18:07, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your help and approval of an article I created. I don't have any disagreements with the edits you made, and the article actually looks better now. --Djc wi (talk) 23:13, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
