Need help with image "Fair Use" license

I've gotten automated messages about a picture I uploaded, RileyPoole.jpg, because it has a "Fair Use" license on it? How do I remove the fair use license?

Here is the picture:

Mdeanoly (talk) 23:03, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

First you need to address the issue that the template has warned you against. The template says that you have claimed the image is non-free, but you have not said why it is that way. More can be found on this subject here, Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. If you need a good example of what you should do to comply with this policy, look at this image: Image:Hogwarts.jpg. After you have complied with the policy, you may remove the template by editing the image using the "edit this page" tab at the top of the page as you would do with any page. You need to make sure you make this change before Monday, 31 December 2007, because after that it will be deleted. I hope this was of help! I have also posted this on your talk just in case you didnt know to look on my talk page. ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 22:31, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Change comment.

Dear Dillard,

I received your note in regard to a change made last year. That was a remnant of an attempt to standardize some semantics not to foist some viewpoint - see see Female Circumcison redirects for examples.

While I can appreciate your dilligence, the tone of your note and it's underlying assumptions left a bad taste in my mouth. Please don't assume the world is out to get you dear boy, life is hard enough without that.

Lexlex (talk) 20:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

THE WORLD IS ENDING!! hahah no sorry i wasnt Assuming good faith. I just looked at your previous edits concerning the same thing and figured you were against it and thought it was mutilation, which i agree it is, but it shouldn't be thought the editor wants you to think that. Anyway, Have a good day, and rejoice that the world is really not, in fact, ending. ;) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 07:35, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

why are you deleting my messages? I just left him a message. It wasn't an attack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AlioTheFool (talkcontribs) 08:20, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please see your talk page. As a general rule, talk pages are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. Thanks ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 08:24, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

its his talk page so I can send him messages. I think you're confused about the rules. If I wanted to ask him about the weather I could leave him a message on his talk page.

thank you for the welcome but I'm still pretty sure you're wrong about what a user talk page is for.

My mistake, warning removed. Thanks! Please review Wikipedia:Talk page ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 08:30, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

ok I will. AlioTheFool (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 08:34, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reverting vandalism on my talk page. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 13:21, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Youre welcome! You would have done the same for me! :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 19:20, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
On a related note: If an IP has replaced three user talk pages like this one did, it's imho not necessary or particularly useful to issue a uw-vandalism1. When I see something like that, I skip directly to uw-vandalism2 or 3, or even a uw-vandalism4im. Just a suggestion though, technically you're right. Dorftrottel (canvass) 01:16, February 28, 2008
Definitely. I recently started using a new anti vandalism tool and i am really getting used to it. Sometimes the automated ones can be waaay too automated for my tastes. That is usually the steps i would have taken, but i didnt look at the edit history for the particular editor. Based on that edit i would have probably issued a 4im warning. Thanks for the feedback! :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 01:24, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. Which tool are you using btw? Dorftrottel (harass) 01:42, February 28, 2008
Huggle. Its still in beta, however. So you have this program that allows you make multiple vandalism reverts, this makes people notice you. The problem with this is, its still in beta, so any mistakes that the program has, people notice it and get mad or whatever. This is the problem that i had with m:WikiMonitor and also with Vandal Proof (they are both made by the same user). So far i haven't noticed any such bugs that cause you to say, warn a page that doesn't exist. I have noticed that it doesn't have something that i have seen in other tools that i like, but you know that's why its still in Development. I am using it so that i may catch these bugs and so that i may improve upon it, regular use is the only thing that can do that. So yeah that's what im using now. I like it so far, has some bugs, where if it gets really far behind it may crash, but that's something i put up with until its fixed. :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 02:13, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Huggle User Category

Hi there. I have seen that you use huggle by the fact that you have automatically updated the huggle white list(it does this when closing huggle). I was wondering if you would add the category to your user page so that it fills out and we know who actually uses huggle. If you do not want to you do not have to. I am also sorry if i have already talked to you about this or you no longer use huggle but i sent it to everyone that has edited the page since mid January. I hope we can start to fill out this category. If you would like to reply to this message then please reply on my talk page as i will probably not check here again. Thanks. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 18:27, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Huggle Category Problem

Hi there. You are receiving this message from me as you have not added your huggle category correctly. At the moment on category here you can see that you are sorted under the letter U. To fix this please change the to . This will fix the problem. If you do not change this within a few days then i will do this for you but i would prefer to send you a message like this than just go and change your page. If you want to contact me then please use my talk page as i will not be checking back here. Thanks for your help. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 16:47, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! :) Thanks for your diligent response! :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 07:10, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

oh yeah

how come they edited the same page to put their own names in it yet you dont remove their edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.237.188.16 (talk) 07:42, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The edits you made were vandalism. I reviewed the page and it seems it maybe a candidate for deletion. It has no content, other than interlinks. Thanks ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 07:54, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Kristian Bjorn

I beg you to read Wikipedia:No disclaimers in articles. I will revert your revert at this point.Carritotito (talk) 07:22, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

!!! I saw that and was like, good for you! The wikipedia is not censored! and then when i clicked Next, i must have clicked revert...o.O dangit! ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 07:28, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh wow, hahah thats really funny. I was expecting you to lash out at me and start saying something like "won't somebody please think of the children!?" Yeah, so i looked up the more specific no disclaimers within the WP:CENSOR. Anyways, I took the time to include the correct porn actor infobox instead of the company one which i left at the bottom near the appropriate section. Any thoughts on improvements? Oh and don't sweat it. And i'll keep assuming good faith if you do.Carritotito (talk) 07:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I always try to assume good faith! :) Thats cool that you changed the infobox, when i saw you comment, i was like WTF i didnt even edit Kristian Bjørn..then i was like wait a minute...neither did he..hm..somethings wrong...LOL. If you ever need any help with anything, feel free to ask me! :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 07:42, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks man! I will. And I did use an edit summary but not for every single edit, since i had a lot in a row, i just made one all encompassing summary after i was through with Ken Ryker and Bjorn.Carritotito (talk) 07:46, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

No you should really use the edit summary on every edit that you preform. This allows editors to know why you made that specific edit. We never look at one edit summary and assume its for any other edit summary. You may also use the Show Preview button to see your edits, so that you dont have to save the page quite so many time. I hope this helps. Thanks! ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 07:53, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

just curious,

why is this vandalism?--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 08:24, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It looks like an edit test to me. I think the user didnt know how to edit without removing content, please check their user talk page and see where i welcomed them so that they may learn to correctly edit a page. You can see that here User talk:Vanholden. Thanks :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 08:31, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Its not that important but I - in light of WP:BITE and in light of the fact that, at most, it was an innocent mistake - wouldn't have blasted him with "vandalism" warnings. Best, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 08:42, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have never bitten a newcomer, and even if i have, i have gone back and said im sorry and corrected my mistake. Once again, as it seems i have to tell many of the editors on the wikipedia (usually the ones that patrol other peoples edits), nobody is perfect, we are in fact human, as such nobody can do the correct thing every time. This discussion is over. Thanks! ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 20:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
