Welcome to WikiProject Computer science

edit

Hi! Just noticed that you've signed on to WikiProject Computer science, and wanted to welcome you to the project. If you haven't done so already, please stop by the project talk page to see what's going on right now. --Allan McInnes (talk) 02:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

YATE Spamming

edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Inter-Asterisk eXchange‎. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

Diana, what you are doing is consider spamming. Read the guidelines here WP:SPAM. The specific guideline that WP considers spamming is Source Solicitation:

  • "Source soliciting
    • Source solicitations are messages on article talk pages which explicitly solicit editors to use a specific external source to expand an article."

Also, links to your website for the purpose promoting your project is against WP guidelines here WP:EL. Bottom line - stop using WP to promote your project and stop soliciting others here to do the same! Calltech 02:40, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Calltech the content was relevant according to WP guides and that is what it matters in the end. I know very well what spam is, and this is not the case. I couldn't put a WP link there because the Yate article was deleted. OTOH you should know that i did not undo your deletion, User:Apankrat did it. I always obey the rules of the project that i'm into.

Integrated banner for WikiProject Computer science

edit

I have made a proposal for a integrated banner for the project here . I invite you for your valuable comments in the discussion. You are receiving this note as you are a member of the project. Thanks -- Tinu Cherian - 09:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

User pages categories

edit

bsd- hi, a small tip: user pages (for example User:Diana cionoiu/YATE Yet another telephony engine) should not be put into wikipedia categories. to prevent pages from being included in categories, put a ":" before the category-

right- [[:Category:Free VoIP software]]
wrong- [[Category:Free VoIP software]]

References

edit

Remember that when adding medical content please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a build in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:12, 27 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
