Welcome

Although some prefer welcoming newcomers with cookies, I find fruit to be a healthier alternative.

Hello, Definitelyduke255, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.
Thank you, let’s collaborate together on Wikipedia. Definitelyduke255 (talk) 07:51, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013 film)

edit

Can you please explain, preferably on the article's Talk page, why you feel sources are needed for this film's plot summary? Typically the summary is merely a synopsis of the film, and as such, the film itself is the WP:PRIMARY source. Thanks for clarifying! DonIago (talk) 03:38, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

No I can’t. I reviewed that page again and I noticed that there aren’t any reference problems in the article you mentioned. I have to apologize on what I did on the article. I unintentionally added a maintenance template without noticing it first. I promise I won’t do it again. Definitelyduke255 (talk) 03:49, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
No worries! We all make edits that we look back on and mentally WTF ourselves over. :) Cheers! DonIago (talk) 04:04, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

First of all, I want to sorry for creating a new account for evading an indefinite block. I’m here as this account to build an encyclopedia, such as adding references, patrolling vandalism, and also occasionally add some contents. Also I have to sorry for creating an account without abandon the old one first. After I get unblocked, I’ll abandon my old account and using this account as a main account. Also I’ll abide to other editor’s advice. Finally, I promise that I won’t be using mutiple accounts again. And I want to thank you an admin who unblock me. Thank you. Definitelyduke255 (talk) 14:02, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You created this account three days ago to evade the block on Ethan2345678. You're doing this exactly wrong. This account will not be unblocked. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 14:27, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I’m sorry but I’m editing in a good faith. I didn’t meant to use this account to disrupt Wikipedia. My original account has lost my password so I can’t appeal on that account. I want to sorry for evading my block on original account. Definitelyduke255 (talk) 14:34, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I’ve lost my password on my original account so I have to request unblock on this account. I’ve got myself aware since I’ve learned more about Wikipedia policies, especially for WP:SOCK all week long and I’ve started to understand more about them. Plus, I’ve even learnt more about WP:DISRUPTIVE and WP:GAME. After I started to famillarise on policies and guidelines. I think I’m ready to come clean, move forward to continue making constructive edits and amend my mistake so not to put project in a risk again. I’m going to promise that I won’t break Wikipedia policies again and I’m willing to abide Wikipedia policies and guidelines and changed my approach to start collaborating with other editors.

Decline reason:

You say you are coming clean, but you did not start this new account and then seek your block to be review. You created this new account and started editing despite being blocked on your main account. You say you have read up on SOCK and GAME, but creating this account to edit despite being blocked shows you don't understand these or have decided not to follow them. HighInBC Need help? Just ask. 03:00, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I’ve admitted that I was wrong, but that account can’t be used and I can’t use emailing function because my email on this account isn’t confirmed yet. I’m going to announce that my old main account (Ethan2345678) won’t be used again in anytime soon. But I’ll promise that I’ll follow Wikipedia policies after get unblocked because before I get blocked I didn’t follow sockpuppetry policy. I have to say that I didn’t use this account to disrupt Wikipedia but I’ve to sorry again for using this account despite being blocked. I’ve just read those policies when I’m blocked so I think I’ve just understood it before I get blocked. Definitelyduke255 (talk) 03:15, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • The master account was globally locked on July 29 because of cross-wiki abuse. That means that a login to the master account was technically impossible, regardless of whether they had their password. This user, the sock, has also edited other projects. Someone should really request a global lock at meta. However, until and if that happens, I've revoked TPA on this account to match the master, as well as preventing the user from wasting any more admin time.--Bbb23 (talk) 06:18, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
