What was your source for mummies and heads at Dropa stones?

Vallée and Aubeck, Wonders in the Sky, p. 430 (for the version on archive.org): "The story adds that the aerial fleet was destroyed on landing and that graves of small humans of the Dropa and Kham race with thin bodies and unusually large heads can be found in the caves, along with star maps carved on the rock walls".

Lunan, Man and the stars: contact and communication with other intelligence, p. 269: "[The discs] were associated, supposedly, with the 12,000-year-old graves of dwarves with large heads, defying classification."

It's unclear what the original source is. Presumably it's "Wegemann", but it could be any of the subsequent people who repeated the story afterwards. Daydreamers (talk) 09:37, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

Maybe there was another source, or it's possible that I made an error while rewriting the article. If I recall something else I will let you know, but for now you can replace "mummies" with a different term if you wish. I thought it may come from Kolosimo but he talks about "skeletons" with big heads and small bodies, instead. Daydreamers (talk) 12:22, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

If it was a mixup then the most likely origin was some source conflating this with the finding of the (real, human, more recent) Tarim mummies, which sometimes make an appearance in pseudoarcheology. The graves in the Xiaohe cemetery are 330, which might explain why someone added a number to the Dropa article today. Daydreamers (talk) 12:43, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
