Image:Cavido.jpg edit

Hello, please do not simply revert edits done by other people without discussing the reasons or listing them in the edit description. The use of {{web-screenshot}} in this way is not appropriate. An example image that uses this tag correctly is Image:Froogles main page.PNG. If you would like to look through the image tags please see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags If you have any questions let me know on my talk page. Thanks! - cohesiont 10:15, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry for the wrong procedure that I did. I just uploaded the picture to show an office of NBI. The reason for using that tag is because I saw that in a webpage and I don't exactly know that tag is appropriate for that.
The source of this image is indicated in the website that I provided in the picture. I am aware that any image from governmental institutions of the Republic of the Philippines are released in public domain.
My concern here is what is the proper tag for these images not what these images are copyrighted or not. I would appreciate if you make/find a tag for this concern and other images that I have uploaded as well [1]. I hope that my tireless contributions in Wikipedia will not be used against me. -- Darth Narutorious 15:39, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have retagged them, I didn't mean to sound mean or that I was blaming you for something, uploading images is, I think, more complicated than it should be. Anyway, there is a tag for Philippino governmental images {{PD-PhilippineGov}} that you can use for those images, some of the other ones I tagged as {{logo}} which would be used for corporate, or organizational logos etc. There are a lot of tags, but they should reflect the copyright status, that is what they are for. You can look at the exciting full list also if you want. Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. If you have any other questions let me know :) - cohesiont 18:45, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your help regarding the tagging of the images that I had uploaded since I'm not aware that there is an existing tag for the images that is owned by the government of the Philippines. Now I know what tag is appropriate if I will upload an image of as such.
I appreciate your concern regarding image tagging issues and I know that your activities would help Wikipedia so much. And if you may, can I ask for help in the future about images and their copyright tags?
Actually, I have a concern right now about the logos, if the logos of the institutions of the Republic of the Philippines should have {{PD-PhilippineGov}} because they made it (or their work), or {{logo}} because it is a logo. I hope you understand my question and what is your opinion about what is the appropiate tag for fictional logos or logos of fictional organizations. Thanks! -- Darth Narutorious 07:25, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
No problem, and sure if you have any questions feel free to ask anytime :) I think if they were Philippino government logos the PD-PhilippineGov tag would be better, feel free to change any of them if I tagged them the other way. If the organization is fictional I would probably still use {{logo}} because that one is claiming fair use, and if you were talking about the fictional organization it would apply. The PD tags are generally better though (if they apply) than the fair use tags. - cohesiont 07:41, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Index_image2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Index_image2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 13:05, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Can I disturb you again Cohesion about the image Index_image2.jpg? I was notified by OrphanBot about it so I just want to ask for your help (you can see my talk page). I really don't know what tag is appropriate for a photo that came from a news from the internet. Can you help me again? Sorry for the inconvenience. -- Darth Narutorious 13:35, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
If it's from a news agency they probably retain the copyright for it and would have to license the image under something compatible with the GFDL, that's very unlikely. Since there are other images of this person as well, it doesn't really fall into any fair use category. I don't think there is any good rationale for keeping it actually. I hope that makes sense. There are a lot of images we can't keep because of our license, that's really what we're doing at image tagging, separating the ones we can keep from the ones we can't, it's not the case that we could keep everything if we only find the right tag for it. :( Sorry that's probably bad news. - cohesiont 19:22, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging Image:Tabris.JPG edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Tabris.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 02:50, 24 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dojlogo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dojlogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Template:2 predecessors edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template:2 predecessors, by KuatofKDY (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template:2 predecessors fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

This template is no longer in use and may be deleted. Please remove, thank you!

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template:2 predecessors, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nbilogo1.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nbilogo1.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:15, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
