User talk:Darkspartan4121/Archives2009/May

Hello from Chzz

Hi there, I think we spoke on IRC? I've created Lee Wardlaw; it's not a great article, but I've put in some references, so it should be ok.

Welcome to Wikipedia; everyone here is quite nice - please try and help us make it better. Read a bit of this before you do much.

Good luck! --  Chzz  ►  04:21, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Darkspartan4121/Archives2009. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started.

 • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit on wikipedia, so, if you like, just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, and ignore all rules, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
 • I suggest that you try to improve a few articles first, before you make your own. Maybe look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better.
 • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.
 • If you need help, please ask! Edit this page, put helpme and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

If you want to know more, there's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of wikipedia!

Signature

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Wikipedia guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and WikiProject pages. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then be automatically added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info, read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. --  Chzz  ►  23:25, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Per your warning on my page

When you look on my page again you will notice your warning is gone. Why? Because you can't vandalize the sandbox. If I vandalized a real article then it would count but since the sandbox has no limits that warning doesn't count. Please don't do it again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eye of the Lion (talkcontribs) 12:00, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Repossessed (novel)

A tag has been placed on Repossessed (novel) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Your question on IRC

You asked on IRC tonight why you had to put your name twice when subscribing to signpost.

You left before I would answer.

Wikilinks work like this;

If you put sausage it will create a link to the article called 'sausage', which will look like this: sausage.

Sometimes though, you want to link one word to another. For example, you want to link the words 'John Smith' to the article called 'John Smith (Chancellor of the Exchequer)'. You do this by putting John Smith. This will appear as; John Smith.

In this case, when adding yourself to the signpost listing, you wanted to add a link to your talk page, but the link text would just be your name. Hence, you put Darkspartan4121.

This links the word 'Darkspartan4121' to your own talk page.

I hope that this is clear; for more info, see WP:LINKING.

Cheers,  Chzz  ►  00:17, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
