Speedy deletion

Can you speedy delete these images: File:MikeBibbyMiamiHeat.jpg, File:JuwanHowardMiami.jpg and File:LeBronJamesDunkingHeat.jpg? They are already transferred to the Commons and satisfy CSD F8. Thanks—Chris!c/t 01:07, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:AltText.PNG

A tag has been placed on File:AltText.PNG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:01, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I went ahead and deleted it myself. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:09, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Why? I don't see any evidence that your talk page has ever been the target of vandalism or abuse. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:07, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Just in case. I know pages are not protected before the act but an exception is needed. Jessy (talk) (contribs) •22:10, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
I need more than that to make an informed decision. Shoot me an email if it's too sensitive to say on Wiki. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:12, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Dabomb87. Please check your email; you've got mail!
It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template.
  • Can you explain what's up with the protection? There is literally no evidence that it is necessary - even off-wiki evidence should have to show some reason to believe the talkpage will be a target, of which there is, well. none. I'm happy to have it explained to me in private rather than in public, but some sort of justification is needed. Ironholds (talk) 22:51, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
    • Check your email. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:56, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
      • Undone. See WP:PPol. Feel free to reprotect the page, specifying a reason for in line with that. Also keeping in mind talk pages should almost never be protected. Prodego talk 23:18, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
        • I've got no issue with that, but I've sent you an email. Dabomb87 (talk) 23:34, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Music of Greece

Hi, thanks for protecting. I posted a message on the Music of Greece talkpage about reverting to the last pre-vandalized version. Its almost 100 edits in the past though. Here is the dif with the current version. What do you think of it?-Yangula (talk) 22:01, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

I know next to nothing about the topic, so I can't tell which edits were bad and which were good. Just be bold and revert, and if another editor complains, you can try another tactic. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:11, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
ok, here it comes, one of the vandals is back and tried to revert but did was not very succesfill...Instead he posted the revision on the talkpage.-Yangula (talk) 22:53, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

FS for F&A

In regards to the featured sounds milestones:

Featured sounds counts the number of sounds and the number of parts. Some nominations, like this nomination of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons is considered one featured sound in multiple (in this case 12) parts. A non multi-part submission is counted as one featured sound in one part. Therefore:

  • The 200th Featured Sound was O Canada, performed by the United States Navy Band, and nominated by Ancient Apparition. (nom)
  • The 300th part was a speech by Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the Banking Crisis that was broadcast on March 12, 1933. The speech was the first of Roosevelt's fireside chats. It was nominated by TonyTheTiger. (nom)

If you have to wait until next week to run this... well let's just say that that may be a good idea. I'll tell you why if you ask, but it might be a good idea to wait on this one. Sven Manguard Wha? 02:33, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Yes, I think I will wait on this; I simply don't have time right now. Cheers, Dabomb87 (talk) 03:21, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

The Daily Caller

Hi, what can be done about the page blanking and protection to The_Daily_Caller (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)? The content that SugarBaby replaced with the real content after about a dozen page blankings is not even appropriate for the section it's in and it has misspellings173.122.85.176 (talk) 01:54, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

First, you and SugarBaby need to agree on a consensus version of the article so that when article is unprotected, the edit warring stops. If you two cannot find a compromise, please pursue the appropriate dispute-resolution steps. Use {{editprotected}} to request an admin to edit the article. Dabomb87 (talk) 01:57, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. My first attempt was discussion but he actually kept deleting it just like the content. An admin finally told him to stop. I will follow up in the way you outlined. Thank you. 173.122.85.176 (talk) 02:01, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

American Academy of Financial Management

I see that you protected the AAFM article. However, can you put back the original article with the 30 plus government and academic citations. There is no reason to let these people or competitors blackwash and smear the article by removing simple government references and citations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.102.39 (talk) 22:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Multiple editors have expressed an opinion that you are pushing a POV and introducing biased, spam-like material into the article. Please discuss your edits on the talk page first, gain consensus for your preferred version, and then request that it be restored with the {{editsemiprotected}} template. Me, too! I think I'll probably not use it immediately (though I may, I am undecided); in any event, I will get a trusted mentor to talk me through it on a few articles, and watch over me (discuss reasons etc.) for quite a while before I would feel totally happy to fly solo with it. I've read the relevant pages/policies, etc. but will still feel happier being buddied for a while on it. Many thanks. :o) Pesky (talk) 03:37, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Rollback rights

Hello Dabomb87, I am . Crosstemplejay, I have been on Wikipedia since 2007, though I only recently started doing serious work on WP. I would like to ask you for rollback rights as I hope to help protect Wikipedia better through its use. I am a RCP and have done a lot of work there. Though I mad a mistake over the course of last week for which i was blocked. I have carefully read all the policies about rollback and new pages. I would be grateful if you would grant me. . Crosstemplejay talk .

Given that you were blocked just a few days ago for careless patrolling, I'd like to see you edit manually for some time before granting you rollback. Dabomb87 (talk) 21:14, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Dabomb87, thanks for your reply. If I may know, how long would I be under probation?--CrossTempleJay (talk) 17:55, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
You're not "under probation"; I just think you need some more time before receiving the tool. A couple of weeks of problem-free editing would be fine with me. Dabomb87 (talk) 21:11, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
I hear. Thank you for the reply. I will do my best to implement all I have learnt so far to good effect so I don't fall into any bad edits. God bless.CrossTempleJay (talk) 21:44, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

FLC for Huskies of Honor issue

Hello. I have a currently-open featured list candidacy for the article Huskies of Honor which has received a couple of supports but probably not enough consensus for promotion yet. Unfortunately I am about to leave on vacation as of tomorrow afternoon; I will most likely be completely away from Wikipedia until May 2 or 3. I wanted to give you a heads-up because I will not be able to respond to any further comments while I'm away. I would have suggested archiving the FLC except for the two supports. If you have any thoughts or suggestions I'd appreciate them. Grondemar 00:46, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Threatening me with a lawsuit

Dear Dabomb87,

I have been maintaining the Value Line page as events surrounding the company and its owner have unfolded. I have tried to present the facts accurately by providing 3rd party citations wherever possible and be cooperative with other posters. I am now being threatened with a lawsuit for defamation by Stpatrick's11 who I presume is somehow affiliated with the company or its owner. As indicated in the section under lawsuits, this seems to be a tactic the company and its owner have used in the past to squelch criticism.

I ask that you review the posts so that the events surrounding Value Line be told without the threats or intimidation.

Thank you,

Vlanalyst (talk) 14:41, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

I will follow your advice and disengage. I assume the other person will do the same, otherwise their tactic of threatening lawsuits has prevailed. Vlanalyst (talk) 15:18, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. I will keep tabs on the article. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:19, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

UplinkAsh can continue to use a common, whining tactic (notice I did not say he is a whiner) and dispel his lies and propaganda. The recent ANI section on me is evidence enough of the latter.
The protection was set to automatically expire after 72 hours. See protection policy for more. And full lockdowns of pages are often done without regard to what version was being protected. –HXL's Roundtable and Record 14:19, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
