Replaceable fair use Image:Heather graham hyt me memorial2.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Heather graham hyt me memorial2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jackofalltradesmasterofnone 12:55, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Nosotros

edit

A tag has been placed on Nosotros requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hi, I deleted your recent article because

  • It did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines for organisations. It had no references, and the External Links were clearly not suitable independent sources.
  • There is no claim of notability: for all I can tell from your text, it could be three people meeting in the pub, there's nothing about membership, funding, or even where the offices are. I don't even know which country
  • Instead what we get is solidly promotional. A quote from the Nostros website... a Mission Statement... A long quote from Montalbán... and that's pretty well it, lots of spam, no facts
  • Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: showcases and supports the talents... oldest National Latino Arts Advocacy non-profit... collective voice of Latinos... We are dedicated... provides a diverse and accessible range... prepare, educate, and enrich the lives... Quoting spam from an organisation's website is still spam.

The point of speedy deletion is that articles that fall too far short of our guidelines can be deleted without discussion. In my view, the article needs to be completely rewritten with facts, without all the spam, and with proper references Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:30, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

To answer your other point, you could always work up your article in a sandbox before throwing it to the wolves Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:34, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

My reply:

In my opinion there was no need to delete the article. People like yourself could help people like me and TELL ME about it first and at least give me a time period to add these items. In my opinion it doesn't explain the reasoning for QUICK deletion. I would happily add such items as you say above in time. This is a great organization supported and founded by Mr. Montelbon and supported by Edward James Olmos. I don't see how such technicalities contribute to the greater good which Wikipedia is supposed to promote. There was no reason for QUICK DELETION of this article. Let it stay dead, however. Be content you've done your job right down to the letter. Cheers.

File source problem with File:George Trofimoff (mugshot).jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:George Trofimoff (mugshot).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dnieper Electrical Locomotive Works moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Dnieper Electrical Locomotive Works, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
