Trial of Catalonia Independence Leaders

Hey there!

I saw you edited the page to remove my contribution. Perhaps it was a bit too long.

What would you say about me making it shorter and trying it back on the page?

Best,

A. --Beauseja (talk) 12:40, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Beauseja: Sorry, but in this case, the issue is not the length, but rather the notability of the information. The information you added does not seem to have received coverage by multiple reliable sources and even the group itself does not seem very notable either. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 15:25, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

VV post

If you wish to discuss the factual post with multiple references then please reach out before modifying the “legal matters” section again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OdinNeith (talkcontribs) 00:26, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Hello @OdinNeith: As I explained to you at Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view/Noticeboard#Requesting_assistance_at_Vineyard_Vines, it is you that made a bold edit by adding the legal matters section. I reverted it because of various issues regarding our policies including WP:UNDUE and WP:ONUS. It is you who must follow Bold, Revert, Discuss. Your edit has been reverted so you must discuss and reach a consensus within the talk page. Please stop edit warring. As I have repeatedly explained to you in the edit summaries, your talk page and most recently at the noticeboard: When we make a bold edit and it gets reverted, the course of action is to discuss in the talk page and reach a consensus before adding back the contentious content, not to edit war by continue to add it back. Some of the content you added might be notable enough to be included in the article, but this is a collaborative project. The way forward is to debate first and once consensus is reached then the changes can be introduced. It is not correct to just to keep adding what you think is right, disregarding other editors. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:54, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

You did not respond to my message. What is in violation? Discuss but don’t take down factual and properly referenced content. If you are being paid to do this by a company you must disclose that. Are you? OdinNeith (talk) 12:09, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

@OdinNeith: Do you actually read my comments? I have repeatedly told you the reasons why I removed your content. Part of it has issues with WP:BLPCRIME and the other with WP:UNDUE. Please carefully read those and afterwards if you still feel that you want to include any part of that content then feel make your arguments on the talk page of the article to try to reach a consensus with other editors. That is the usual process here per WP:BRD. For your information I am not paid to do this by any company. I removed the content for the concerns above. Not everything that can be refereced should be included in an encyclopedic article. If we were to include a section in the project's articles every time somebody sues a company regardless of in-depth coverage or if they are convicted articles would be flooded. Please also read WP:AGF, I could ask you if you are involved in any of those legal process with WP:Routine coverage you are so adamant of including despite the thin coverage. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:20, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
@Crystallizedcarbon: no affiliation with legal or company. your reasoning is quite thin, in a debate it’s best to reference the section or citation and then explain exactly why the content is in violation. Let me give example, the speed limit is 80 mph, you are getting a speeding ticket. That is an incomplete and erroneous claim. All of the content posted is factual, relevant to the company, public info, in accordance with all wiki guideline and equivalent to like sections on hundreds if not thousand of equivalent company related wiki pages. So give good reason to not revert changes, or changes will be reverted. I also would like to escalate to a wiki admin.— Preceding unsigned comment added by OdinNeith (talkcontribs) 16:28, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
@OdinNeith: I am really glad that for the first time you finally posted to the talk page of the article without continue to edit war. I assume that despite all my requests you still have not read WP:NOTNEWS, WP:UNDUE or WP:ONUS. I will be happy to discuss with you at the articles talk page were I can explain in detail our policies. I hope we can reach a consensus. My advice to you is that you present you arguments there, If I were in your shoes I would not recommend to "escalate" before doing that, your options for getting admins involved would be to contact one directly or better yet to state your request at one of the Wikipedia:Noticeboards, but as I said before, you should not do so until you have exhausted the possibility to reach a consensus at the talk page. If that fails the next step I would recommend, would be for you to follow the advice at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. Lets continue at the article's talk page. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:49, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

I don’t think you are familiar with the sections you are referencing. You have offered no factual reason why the content should be excluded OdinNeith (talk) 20:21, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

@OdinNeith: Sorry but I don't understand what you are saying. Me and others have given you reasons based in our policies. What sections do you claim I'm not familiar with? --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:48, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

That’s concerning, because it a straight forward statement — Preceding unsigned comment added by OdinNeith (talkcontribs) 19:23, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

@OdinNeith: What sections are you referring to? I explained to you why not all referenced content should be included in an article. Did you understand my arguments? did you read our policies? why don't you answer my questions? --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 11:22, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Raffey Cassidy

Hi @Crystallizedcarbon: Please don't add that Youtube video back in. It is entirely unsuitable to be used as a reference to establish her birthday, and it comes up red in the script, meaning it is a low-quality reference, and will always be removed by other editors for the same reason, even if it not me, so why put it back in. Any other method that proves it, would be ideal. The only people who want to trawl through a video to establish the birthday are fans, so it doesn't really help the general audience of readers. I notice you haven't written a lot of articles, so perhaps you don't know, from experience. I don't think you would expect that to be accepted at GA if it was presented. They wouldn't accept it with video ref in the lede. It is just not done. scope_creepTalk 18:21, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Scope creep: I believe you are mistaken in this case. Please review WP:RS. Specifically WP:PUBLISHED and WP:ABOUTSELF. To understand why a YouTube reference comes red in your script please review This RfC on YouTube and the Pernnial sources entry on YouTube where it clearly states that verified official accounts from news organization are valid. And even if you doubt the reliability of the Black Hollywood Live news channel, it also explicitly mentions WP:ABOUTSELF as a valid exception. It is the subject herself who confirms her own birthday in the video interview. You made a bold edit by removing that reference without providing a better one. I reverted it, if you disagree you must make your case at the talk page of the article. If you can not find a better source and you still disagree, please feel free to make a query at WP:RSN or present your arguments at the talk page, but please stop edit warring and follow WP:BRD. Thank you. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 10:52, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Rubina Bajwa

Dear @Crystallizedcarbon:, for the same reasons of reverting the edits of User:Hullaballoo Wolfowitz on Gurbaksh Chahal's page, please revert the same disruptive edits for Rubina Bajwa as the subject matter and edits are related. Thank you. --61.238.106.82 (talk) 12:06, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Please look at the message I left for you at the talk page of Rubina Bajwa. Please remove the personal accusations against Hullaballoo Wolfowitz from your comment there and remember that assuming good faith is a fundamental principle of Wikipedia. Thank you. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 09:43, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford: Thank you! I reviewed it but I did not create it (I guess it must be part of the template you used). I did not noticed that it had already been through AfD. It does clearly meet WP:G4. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 14:10, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

regarding ISHAAN SINGH MANHAS page/article

Hi, i have updated this article (Ishaan Singh Manhas) by adding 6 more References/Sources. Is there anything else i need to do? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theviju (talkcontribs) 02:29, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Theviju:: First, just a friendly reminder for you to sign your comments, you can do so either with this button on your menu:   or by typing this code: --~~~~
Regarding the biography, you should, first of all, make sure that all the content of the article is referenced by independent reliable sources. Another editor has open an AfD (Article for deletion discussion). My advice to you would be to first find references for the information you added in the first paragraph of the career section, which is now unsourced. To avoid deletion you should establish that the subject has received in-depth coverage by multiple reliable sources independent of the subject. Once you have done that you should participate in the AfD for Ishaan Singh Manhas and mention the references you added and why you think they are enough to meet our general notability guideliness. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 05:59, 31 May 2021 (UTC)

Gurbaksh Chahal

Hello, I noticed you have been active on the Gurbaksh Chahal page.

I noticed that the last edit made - shrunk the section breaks but then also made the domestic violence section, it's own. I thought that has been debated already, and belongs in the Personal Life section. Can you please take a look? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.215.163.73 (talkcontribs) 09:38, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

To me eliminating the subsection titles for each company makes sense. I restored the Domestic violence and conviction as a subsection of the personal life as I think that should be debated in talk first. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 11:44, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Crystallizedcarbon, appreciate you at least restored the subsection, as I followed the talk page and it's been debated already. Also, I've noticed a permanent lock on the page, is this something that can be lifted as that strongly diminishes the article to be edited outside of the pre-select group that have already made changes.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.238.106.82 (talkcontribs) 12:45, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

No problem, but I am sorry that I can not help you with your request. For the same reason that I restored the status quo on the controversial subsection, I think that it would be a bad idea to lift the semi-protection of the page. There was a long and painfully edit war and many editors, including me, had to invest a lot of time. I personally don't think it is worth the risk. BTW, please remember to sign your posts by typing four tildes: --~~~~. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:08, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

June2021

Hi - responding here to your note on my talk page about the Rough sex murder defense. These edits pertain to a student assessment, which informed their edits and the section I removed. I left a brief summary in the edit explanation, but did not include more as I am currently marking assessments. Please note the removal was valid per various standards that were not followed. LisaGiocondo (talk) 17:40, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

@LisaGiocondo: You are correct. I used a tool and I missed your edit summary. I have removed the note in your talk page. Apologies and best regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 21:07, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

Seeking help with Vizio edit requests

Hello, I am a COI editor working for Vizio. I noticed that you are a member of Wikiprojects Brands and Electronics, so I thought you might like to help out with editing the Vizio page. If you go to Talk: Vizio, you will see my latest edit requests, that have so far only been partially implemented. The remaining requested edits are updates to keep the article relevant and are not controversial or promotional. If you agree my requests are helpful, I would be grateful if you could implement them according to the clear instructions in my request. Thank you so much. Jeremy885511 (talk) 15:44, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Jeremy885511: I see that you already asked another involved editor to review the requests. On a quick glance I did not see anything mayor so It does not seem urgent. I prefer to leave it on Kvng's and other involved editors hands. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:27, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi. Yes I asked Kvng but he doesn't appear to be involved anymore. I pinged him again to continue with the remainder of my request but he seems to have lost interest. I appreciate your help. Thanks so much. Jeremy885511 (talk) 20:02, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Gurbaksh Chahal

The biannual attempt to white-wash the Burbaksh Chahal article has begun. If you would help me keep an eye on it, I would appreciate it. Chisme (talk) 17:40, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Chisme: Will do. Thanks for the heads up. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:06, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

Crystallizedcarbon, looks like its happening on both sides. Since you have been keeping it the status quo, please restore the edits from the edits made (removal of awards, pictures, etc.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.238.106.82 (talkcontribs) 07:40, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I will take a deeper look latter, what award or picture was removed? Please remember to sign your comments by adding --~~~~ at the end. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 07:53, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Crystallizedcarbon, have a look at all the changes made right now - they all have been designed to remove awards, pictures, content that have been part of the status quo for more than a year. If the person wants to make changes, they should go to talk page, like everyone - before outright making changes without consensus. Please restore these changes Crystallizedcarbon Crystallizedcarbon Faizal batliwala

Crystallizedcarbon, regarding the coronavirus needing secondary sources that is in question, you can get it many of these from a google search, hopefully this puts the edit war at bay.

Hello. Again, please, please, don't forget to sign your comments. The sources you provided are for content that is not contested. The phrase that is currently sourced only with articles by the subject is: "During the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, Chahal became a vocal critic of governments and urged them to update their monetary policies in order to salvage their economies. He also spoke out against increasing xenophobia targeting the Chinese populace.". If no independent reliable sources are provided it should be removed. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:18, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
Given, the context and self published op-ed pieces, shouldn't the text be modified to:

"During the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, Chahal wrote several op-ed articles critical of governments and urged them to update their monetary policies in order to salvage their economies. He also spoke out against increasing xenophobia targeting the Chinese populace."

Given the rise in Asian-American hate crimes, I believe the second part is also notable.61.238.106.82 (talk) 01:33, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Sorry, but if it's not sourced by independent reliable sources, it's not considered notable according to our policies. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:39, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

Catalan vs Spanish in lead

Hi there, Just wanted to talk more generally about the article of Jordi Puigneró, along with others. I'd like to remind you of the 2018 RfC, which specifically states that if they are notable for being a nationalist from a Spanish nationality, they should be named with Catalan. In the infobox, it can still say their citizenship is Spanish (as it obviously is) but the RfC clearly states it should be said as Catalan, not as Spanish. Do you disagree, and if so why do you want to go against the consensus of the RfC since that's specific consensus for this topic? Thanks, Jxlarb (Talk to me) 12:23, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Jxlarb: The proper place for discussion is the talk page of the article. The RfC mentions the recommendation of many users of using compromises such as "Spanish Basque" so that is why I added "from Catalonia" to the previous status quo version. I might be able to support other versions, but I don't think that the country of citizenship of the subject should be removed from the lead. We can continue on the talk page of the article. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:43, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021

New Page Review queue September 2021

Hello Crystallizedcarbon,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here. Sent to 827 users. 04:31, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

I need your help

I'm sending you this message because I need your help. I noticed that you fixed the erroneous edits of other user in the article called "Carme Forcadell". That user had changed Carme Forcadell's nationality from "Spanish" to "Catalan" and you corrected it.

That is why I ask for your help, because I have found the same problem in other articles: I corrected the nationality of other politicians who are also from Catalonia but my edits were reversed by another user. I ask you, please, to correct those nationality errors for me. I prefer not to do it again because I am concerned that if I insist my edits could be considered arbitrary.

The articles with that problem are as follows:

-Roger Torrent -Pere Aragonès -Joan Ignasi Elena -Laura Vilagrà -Violant Cervera -Gemma Geis i Carreras -Elsa Artadi -Artur Mas

Thank you Tomas Fernando Camargo (talk) 17:46, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

Saludos. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 05:58, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Gurbaksh Chahal

The attempt to white-wash Gurbaksh Chahal's reputation took a new turn yesterday. Editor Faizal batliwala wrote, "...a San Francisco judge dismissed all charges related to (his domestic violence) incident." However, the citation for the entry points to an SCRIBD page with a document that was uploaded by Gurbaksh himself! SCRIBD is in its own words "a place where anyone can share their ideas with the world, quickly, easily, and for free." In this instance, the "anyone" was Chahal, the subject of the article. Moreover, looking at the document on SCRIBD, you can see it is a petition for dismissal, not a dismissal. As before, if you would help me keep an eye on this bullshyte, I would appreciate it. (I'm starting to wonder what Faizal batliwala's relationship with Chahal is.) Chisme (talk) 16:31, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Chisme: Uff. Thanks for the heads up. I will check it now. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 17:10, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
I see that you already handled it well. I will try to keep an eye out. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 17:17, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

Necesito un consejo tuyo, por favor

Hola Crystallizedcarbon:

"I noticed that you have posted comments in a language other than English. At the English-language Wikipedia, we try to use English for all comments. Posting all comments in English makes it easier for other editors to join the conversation and help you. If you cannot avoid using another language, then please provide a translation into English, if you can. If you cannot provide a translation, please go to the list of Wikipedias, look in the list for a Wikipedia that is in your language, and edit there instead of here. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree"

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#Good_practices Aziyade Gil (talk) 02:26, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

Saludos.
(translation of text above): Hello Aziyade Gil: The recommendation is clear. You should try to write in English whenever you can, because although I don't think they will block you for it, as it is a guideline and not a policy, it is true that editors are expected to follow guidelines whenever possible. Since you have been asked to do so, my advice would be for you to make that extra effort or at least also add an English translation. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 17:08, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

Saludos.
(translation of text above): In those cases, I suggest that you respond in Spanish if both speak the language, but that you also paste the text from Google Translate to follow the guideline. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:09, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Saludos

(translation of text above) Thank you very much, I will. Although I imagine that when other users who do not know how to speak Spanish see a message in English so badly written (because it is the translation of a text in Spanish with a complex structure), they will be surprised. Greetings Aziyade Gil (talk) 15:56, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Saludos cordiales.
(translation of text above): I wouldn't worry about that, The Spanish speaker will understand and even if its grammar may not be perfect, others should not object for using an automatic translation. Best regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 18:11, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Saludos

(translation of text above) Thank you very much for your optimism.

Because of those grammar mistakes that Google translator sometimes makes, I precisely what I do is that I elaborate the sentences in Spanish with a structure as simple as possible and without too much decoration, so as not to confuse the Google translator: of that In general, sentences are better when translated. Usually when I edit articles it works quite well for me that way. Greetings Aziyade Gil (talk) 19:44, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

(translation of text above) Hello Crystallizedcarbon:

I am writing to you because I wanted to tell you that a few weeks ago I noticed that the article in English Wikipedia by Fernando Fernán Gómez had a template at the top that said that this article could be expanded with text translated from the equivalent article in Spanish: Well, I did that, I expanded the article by translating the content in Spanish with the Google translator. But I'm really not sure whether or not that content I added may have grammatical errors due to possible failure of the translator.

That is why I would like to ask you (in case you are not too busy) if you could take a look at my editions in Fernando Fernán Gómez's article to check if there are generally no grammatical errors in what I did. Many thanks in advance. Aziyade Gil (talk) 05:29, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

(translation of text above) I would also like to ask your help to translate a sentence: I happen to be preparing an article to be created on Wikipedia in English about a radio station called "Radio Metropolitana". Most of the content that I have translated into English with the Google translator has been quite good for me; but that sentence to which I refer, when translated, does not look good.

That is why I ask for your help: I would like to ask you (if it is not too much trouble) if, based on your knowledge of the English language, you could translate that sentence so that it looks good and then send me the translation in a reply message. The sentence is as follows:

Once again, forgive me for the inconvenience and thank you very much. Aziyade Gil (talk) 05:58, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Saludos. @Aziyade Gil: Yo español. Me alegro de haber podido ayudar. Saludos. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 16:51, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

(Translation of text above) Hello Crystallizedcarbon:

Sorry to bother you once more to ask for your help, but I have come across a situation that seems controversial to me and I would like to ask your advice on that: It happens that some time ago I noticed that the English Wikipedia article by the Spanish architect called "Antoni Gaudí "refers to him in the heading of the article as "Catalan architect ".

As far as I know, in Wikipedia articles that are biographies, reference should be made in the heading of the article to the subject's country of citizenship, not to their regional origin within a country. That's why I edited the article and put "Spanish architect", but my edit was reversed and the user who reversed it claimed in his explanation that my edit was vandalism.

Then later I remembered that in the case of Catalan politicians for some time a consensus has been reached in Wikipedia regarding this: In the case of Catalan politicians in English Wikipedia, to achieve neutrality it must be written "Spanish politician from Catalonia ". I edited the article again, this time applying that formula to Antoni Gaudí: "Spanish architect from Catalonia". In fact, I added that formula to some articles by Catalan politicians and my editions were not reversed. But in Gaudí's article my edition was reverted once more (despite using that formula) with the justification again that it was vandalism.

I don't like being arrogant, in fact I think I'm a user who still has a lot to learn, but in my humble personal opinion, this omission of Gaudí's country of citizenship is a partialization of the content. Could you help me correct that situation or at least give me some advice regarding that particular article? Aziyade Gil (talk) 20:24, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

@Aziyade Gil: Done, current consensus is that if status quo version was Spanish and it is contested, we add from Catalonia, but if status quo version was Catalan, we add from Spain. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:20, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

Thank you very much, I must confess that it bothered me a lot when that user claimed that my edits were vandalism. Aziyade Gil (talk) 03:03, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

(Translation of text above) I would also like to ask you something else, if it is not too much trouble: a final translation of a sentence based on your knowledge of the English language.

I have almost finished the article that I mentioned called "Radio Metropolitana", and almost ready to be created, this little phrase that I will send you is the last thing I need, because with the Google translator it does not look very good. I promise you that after this I will not bother you for any translation again: this is the last time, please.

The phrase is the following that appears in quotation marks:

Many thanks in advance Aziyade Gil (talk) 03:05, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Aziyade Gil: Please remember that all content must be referenced by reliable sources.
"Since 2011, Iribarren hosts "Planeta", a radio show that gives alerts about attacks to the ecosystem and the danger they pose to biodiversity. It also covers other subjects related to art, philosophy, economy, history trivia and general culture. Iribarren also covers news and talks frequently about the COVID-19 pandemic, including the latest advances in related scientific investigations."
Regards --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 08:39, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Muchas gracias, Crystallizedcarbon.

Saludos Aziyade Gil (talk) 04:54, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

No problem @Aziyade Gil: Great about the reliable sources, but please also keep in mind that most of the content should be referenced to independent sources. The oficial website of the radio station is not independent. Look for news articles or books etc. that have in-depth coverage of the program. you can find more information here: Wikipedia:Reliable sources and WP:GNG. Un saludo. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 09:45, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Saludos Aziyade Gil (talk) 18:36, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Saludos. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 18:44, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Peter Arnell draft

Hi Crystallizedcarbon, I see that you are a member of WP:BRANDS and was hoping you might help with drafts for Peter Arnell and Arnell Group. I've implemented a few suggestions from the community already, and feel they may be ready for mainspace. I have a COI and so cannot move them myself, and would appreciate you looking them over and publishing if they are ready. Thanks for your help! Joanne PA (talk) 16:57, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Joanne PA: On a first glance, I don't think it's ready for mainspace. It reads like a resume, and there is a lot of information that should be trimmed starting by content that is not referenced by independent reliable sources. I'm sorry that I don't have enough time these days to do a more in depth analysis. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 07:23, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
Chrystallizedcarbon, thanks so much for your time.
I made some changes as per your feedback- removed any unsourced material, fixed the format to read less like a resume, and trimmed some language that could be seen as promotional. If you have a chance to give it one more look, would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again, Joanne PA (talk) 19:12, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello @Joanne PA: I have made a few edits. Also, please remove all awards that are not notable enough to have their own article. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:41, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
@Crystallizedcarbon: thanks so much for your help with this. I removed most of the awards- I hope I understood what you meant about notability. Please feel free to make any other changes that you see fit. I also fixed a small error in the "Publications" section. If the article looks good, I'd really appreciate you moving it into mainspace. Thanks again! Joanne PA (talk) 15:04, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello @Joanne PA: please see if you can find an independent reliable source for Lowe’s Home Improvement. If not, please remove it as well. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 17:21, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
@Crystallizedcarbon: done! Thanks again. Joanne PA (talk) 16:07, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

nationality v citizenship

Hola Crystallizedcarbon:

Translation: Hello Crystallizedcarbon,

I am writing to ask for your advice on an issue that has really confused me for some time.

And it is that lately I have come across the controversy that I do not know which parameter is better to use in the information sheet (infobox) to refer to the country of origin of a person: "nationality" or "citizenship".

I ask you this because if either of the two could be used interchangeably, I would not have much doubt. But the point is that sometimes I noticed that in some biographies the parameter "nationality" appears for people with dual citizenship, and in those cases the parameter "citizenship" is generally used (at least in English Wikipedia). Well, when I have noticed that I have replaced the parameter "nationality" with "citizenship" but my edits have been reversed. On the other hand, after that I chose to use the "citizenship" parameter when there was a biography that did not have the country of origin highlighted in the infobox, but then it happens that my edits were also reversed in those cases and the "nationality" parameter that I had put was replaced by "citizenship", as in the case of Andy García's infobox (this is one of the few articles whose infobox says "citizenship" for a person who has only one citizenship).

Anyway, all this explanation to know ... When should I use "nationality" and when "citizenship"? ... Does the fact that the person has dual nationality/citizenship or not influence the use of one or the other parameter?

I would appreciate it if you could help me with that question. Many thanks un advance. Aziyade Gil (talk) 19:01, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Aziyade Gil: Nationality refers to the country in which the person was born while citizenship can be granted by a different country. You could have dual citizenship, but only one nationality. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:22, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1033930139

Aziyade Gil (talk) 22:37, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Aziyade Gil: It seems that the issue is a bit more complex. There was a failed proposal Wikipedia:Citizenship and nationality. As it currently stands, since there is no clear policy or guidelines, if a change is challenged the status-quo should prevail unless a consensus is reached in the talk page, so personally I would let it as is. I hope that helps. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 13:14, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your explanation and for the link you sent me Aziyade Gil (talk) 19:59, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:MobileDiff/138663954

Hello @Aziyade Gil: I assume that he probably considered that the fact lacked notability. I don't know if it was covered by other reliable sources at that time and latter on. Your best bet in those cases is to contact the user directly in their talk page and ask them politely to please clarify the reasons for the removal. I hope that helps. Regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 12:59, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

Ayuda con una cuestión técnica

Hola Crystallizedcarbon:

Translation: Hi Crystallizedcarbon:

I am writing to ask for your help once again with a technical question. I would like to know if you could explain to me how I can revert one or more of an edition of other users.

I had not really been very interested in how to reverse before, since generally I have always preferred to fix a previous erroneous edition with another edition. But some time ago something happened to me that made me change my mind: I was expanding the article of a Portuguese artist named Maria Keil and when I had almost finished the work another user reversed all my edits in that article because he mistakenly believed that what I was doing was vandalism... and since I did not know how to reverse, I had to ask another user to help me solve that situation. Here I send you the links to the edition of the user who reverted my contributions and also the one of the user who helped me later so that you can take a look:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1024288823

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1024317918

Therefore, in order not to have to go through that situation again, I request your help to (if it is not too much trouble) to know if you could explain to me how to reverse. Many thanks in advance. Aziyade Gil (talk) 22:04, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Saludos Aziyade Gil (talk) 22:27, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Aziyade Gil: You do not need to revert. To be able to do so, you would need that permission to be granted and for that, you should first have a history of patrolling to demonstrate that you need the rollback rights. But again, for what you describe you can simply use the undue link on the history of the article and if you need to revert to a previous version because many edits were made, you could just view the right diff and then hit the edit link. You will be warned that you are editing an old revision. You should copy and paste the information of the diff you are restoring and paste it in the edit summary along with why you are restoring that old diff. I hope that helps. Best regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 22:30, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
I just left a welcome message in your talk page with many helpful links. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 22:30, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Muchas gracias Crystallizedcarbon.

Saludos Aziyade Gil (talk) 22:51, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

@Aziyade Gil: No problem at all, we all had to learn, and I am more than happy to help. Yes, the undo at the right of each edition effectively reverts the article to the version before that edit, giving you the chance to review and optionally make further changes before confirming. Best regards. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:53, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello Crystallizedcarbon:

Thank you sincerely for your good disposition and for all your kindness. I really appreciate the fact that you have always been there to help me when I have had a problem: In my opinion that is something that is not forgotten. Aziyade Gil (talk) 00:43, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

@Aziyade Gil: My pleasure, glad I could help. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 20:08, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Translation: Hello Crystallizedcarbon, I am writing to tell you that I have noticed that compliance with the consensus in Antoni Gaudí's article for which I asked you for help some time ago has been vandalized again. I am writing you this message to ask for your intervention in this situation, since at the end of the day you are a user with more experience than me. And I think if I do correct the consensus in that article again, then the user who recently undid it might undo my edit and that would lead to an edit war. Personally, I think that perhaps that user is not aware of the consensus that exists regarding "Catalan from Spain" or "Spanish from Catalonia". Here is the link to that user's edition:

Translation: Hello Crystallizedcarbon: Please, seriously forgive me for bothering you once again with this topic, but it happens that the same user who previously removed the country of citizenship in Antoni Gaudí's article has now reverted your edit again. You know that I do not like to criticize other users negatively but... Is it that this user does not respect the consensus that is established with respect to that question? This is already a repeated violation!... I would like to ask your help to make that user understand definitively that this is a CONSENSUS. Many thanks in advance.

https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Havane-Babylone._La_prostitution_%C3%A0_Cuba

Hola @Aziyade Gil: Done. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 10:47, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Saludos. Aziyade Gil (talk) 14:39, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

No hay de que. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 09:32, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello Crystallizedcarbon:

Did you know ... that back in 1885, Wikipedia editors wrote Good Articles with axes, hammers and chisels?

Thank you for your contributions to this encyclopedia using 21st century technology. I hope you don't get any unnecessary blisters.
