Welcome!

Hello, Coreou, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hey Coreou, I saw that you started editing the 'Romani in Poland' stub as part of your uni course I presume? I am also editing this as part of my uni course, just thought I'd let you know so there aren't any misunderstandings and we can hopefully cooperate on improving this stub! :). RimaB99

Hi! Yes, I just finished adding to this page last week as a part of my university's WikiEdu program for one of my courses. Thanks for reaching out! I am pretty much done with any of the edits I wanted to add as a part of my uni course and put most of my edits into the historical backdrop section. Please let me know if there is anything more you need from me, but I'm basically done with my work for my course :) Coreou (talk) 19:15, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh ok! I think I should be fine, but thanks so much for offering, appreciate it. Good luck with everything :) RimaB99

DYK nomination of Romani people in Poland

edit

Hello! An article you have been editing –- Romani people in Poland –- was recently nominated by another user at Did you know, to be featured on the main page. The nomination has now been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Would you be willing to share credit for 5x expansion of this article with User:RimaB99? BusterD (talk) 21:26, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi BusterD, thank you so much for reaching out to me. My apologies for not responding sooner! I have read all of the comments that have been posted about the nomination and I am completely fine with sharing some of the credit for this expansion. This has all been such a great experience and being able to connect with students from around the world has also been an enriching part of the process. Thanks again for your comments and assistance, and please feel free to let me know if you need anything. Coreou (talk) 01:33, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nothing required. I hope your professor gave you a good grade. I would ask you to consider continuing editing when you find a page you like or that needs help. Nobody on Wikipedia edits full-time, well, almost nobody. I started off 16 years ago with a single edit, and now I'm older wiser and have a better sense of what my writing can contribute (and my writing has improved with practice). These days writing an article isn't that much different than a term paper, with nobody to grade you except yourself. Of course, (just as in this case) someone is likely to come along and improve the page after you're done, a fact which has helped me forgive my work and not be so tough on myself. Please feel invited, and if I can help in any way please call on me. Have a great summer, fellow wikipedian! BusterD (talk) 01:45, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Romani people in Poland

edit

On 12 June 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Romani people in Poland, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Roma people were persecuted alongside the Jews in the Holocaust? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Romani people in Poland. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Romani people in Poland), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

A Barnstar to share with an editor halfway around the planet

edit
  The Half Barnstar
I'd like to commend this editor for cooperating with another student editor to further expand Romani people in Poland. The other student editor User:RimaB99 lives and goes to school in Sydney, Australia at the University of Sydney. Between the two editors, they expanded the page eleven times the original page size. In my humble opinion, building and improving an English language Wikipedia article with another student 9,200 miles away symbolizes the heart of what Wikipedia represents: global cooperation to create the world's finest online encyclopedia. The work you've contributed will last as long as English is spoken (and perhaps longer). Don't be shy about continuing to edit Wikipedia. You're off to a legendary start!
