Your user name
editWelcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "CopyvioAndSoWhat", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies that you think copyright violations are okay. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Diannaa (talk) 02:11, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Copyright problems
editI appreciate your attempt to reduce copyright infringements at Thomas Mensah. However, there were, unfortunately, problems with your attempt. Firstly, slight rephrasing which leaves the text close enough to the original that it is recognisable as a version of the original does not stop the copying from infringing copyright. Secondly, such changes make it far more difficult to check whether there is in fact copyright infringement, as a simple search for quotes from the article in the source text does not succeed. Thirdly, if there is substantial copyright infringing text in the history of an article, and later versions of the article have developed from the copyright-infringing ones in a series of steps, where copyright infringement was finally removed after various other edits, there can be problems caused by conflicts between the need to keep editing history for attribution purposes and the need to remove illegal content from the publicly visible history of the article. It is for reasons such as that that the copyright banner on the page said "Do not restore or edit the blanked content on this page until the issue is resolved by an administrator, copyright clerk or OTRS agent." In future, please try to make sure that you follow that instruction on any article with such a copyright banner. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk)

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. — Coffee // have a cup // beans // 00:57, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
