Hello Cook's Kitchen. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Cook's Kitchen. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Cook's Kitchen|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. TonyBallioni (talk) 16:06, 10 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

My apologies User:TonyBallioni for the delay. I am a member of the legal orgs I started pages for, but am not paid by them. I’ve been looking around for other topics that looked interesting. Is there a resource I could access to read more about how to create pages better? Cook's Kitchen (talk) 18:30, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Furthermore I work in the real estate (investment) industry on the West coast, do you need the name of the company I work for too? (I haven’t edited anything about them, they’re not really a big deal). Cook's Kitchen (talk) 18:34, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Also just wanted to verify that I will stop editing as per your request until I am able to clear this up. My apologies again for the delay. Cook's Kitchen (talk) 19:10, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply: if you have not been paid or do not reasonably expect to receive payment, you do not have to disclose. My concerns here are that you have been churning out a lot of articles for commercial and non-profit organizations really quickly in directory entry style formatting, and that have very few mistakes in them. This is not normal for someone who just created an account, and raises concerns that you might have received payment for them as commissioned works. You can see the list of articles that I noted at COIN. Do you have any relationship at all to any of them, and if you do, were you paid to contribute? Also, is this the first Wikipedia account you have operated? TonyBallioni (talk) 22:58, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don’t expect to at this point; I had been trying to learn the ropes in order to possibly create a page for a company we invested in, but given what I’m finding out right now I think I’ll not pursue that. I wouldn’t have been paid for that either way. Can I ask what “directly entry style” is? I tend to work offline on things as I’m a perfectionist and am trying hard not to mess up. My apologies if I’m not doing things right. It’s my first time here and got a bit too into it I guess. I’m thinking about what I wrote about and I’m mostly writing about services I use, but I don’t know them personally. Like, I know “of” Ron Suber, but I don’t know him myself and never worked near his circles. I guess the closest would be Paul Bernon whom I met once, but I don’t have any connection with him professionally. I’m glad you contacted me though as I’m definitely learning more about what “not to do”; better to know now than after maybe writing something that wouldn’t have been of any use. Proposed deletion of Amin Elhassan edit

The article Amin Elhassan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non notable commentator --

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Proposed deletion of Cosmetic Coffee edit

Hello, Cook's Kitchen. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Cosmetic Coffee, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
