Wikimedia training for librarians

edit

Hello again ColinDunc! Thanks for attending our Wikimedia training session for Librarians, and for being part of the first phase of the Scottish Library & Information Council's Wikimedia project. Our aim is to “Establish public libraries as quality content creators in the digital sphere, and to provide open access to freely usable content about Scottish culture, derived from our rich library collections", and it's great to have you on board. Now that you've learned the basics, I do encourage you to stay logged in, and have another go at editing. If you don't want to write a new article straight away, then why not try a small edit or two first, add a link, or maybe a picture?

  • To keep up to date about Wikimedia events happening throughout Scotland, to learn more about ScotWiki projects, or to publicise your own ScotWiki event or project, join the ScotWiki Mailing List!

I'll send a link to my slides by email, however here's some links that you may find useful in the meantime. If you've got any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Inverclyde Libraries moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Inverclyde Libraries, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 15:01, 3 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
