Please, call me Zachary. Its way easier to type, isn't it? :) As for your question, there are two means of communication in Wikipedia. The first is the one you and me are using; sending a message to someone's talk page (see Wikipedia:Talk Pages) and waiting for him/her to reply. The second is a sort of chat room, where your messages are replied to almost instantaneously. Look at Wikipedia:IRC Channels for more information. As for the rules, I'm not sure what you mean, but its generally like writing letters, be polite and so on. Once you've finished typing your message, leave four tildes at the back of your message:

 Hi, how are you? ~~~~

And it results in:

 Hi, how are you? Zacharycrimsonwolf 13:52, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

The message system is a little overwhelming but for now, all you need to do is to remember to sign your messages (by leaving the four tildes). It is probably the main rule in Wikipedia's communication. If you need anythng, or ask any questions, leave me a message at my talk page. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hi, and welcome to the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often referred to as "Novels".

Some advice

Hi there, Nicholas. I decided to give you some advice on what to remember on Wikipedia. First, you need to read through the introduction to Wikipedia right here. They don't mention the major policies, but if you go through the links on the page, you should be able to figure things out. Also, I recommend that you impart your research on a sub page of your user page. Also, remember to keep things looking immaculate, and I would recommend that you go through the sub pages of The Transhumanist who has some interesting stuff that I work on or do plenty. His page on design would apply here, but so would nearly everything. If you would like a tailored reference pack, I'll send that in. I think that this should be plenty to go on. WikiProject Novels - 1st Coordinators Election

Project news Elections are now taking place for coordinators of the project for the next six months. Any editors interested in seeking a coordinator position, or who want a say in who is selected, should indicate as much here. Member news The project has currently 381 members, 69 joined & 0 leavers since the start of March 2008. Other news The project's long-time lead coordinator, Kevinalewis, has announced he is not standing as a candidate for another term in that capacity. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to him for the extraordinary work he has done for this project. To Kill a Mockingbird and El Señor Presidente were both recently promoted to Featured Article status. This brings the novel FA count to 14! It has been suggested that WikiProject Sword of Truth be merged into WP:NOVELS, perhaps as a task force. Task force news Two inactive projects were converted into task forces, so Chronicles of Narnia task force and Lemony Snicket task force have been created. People interested in the aforementioned subjects are encouraged to support the new task forces. (Thank to Wassupwestcoast for the tip) Novel related news The science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke died on 19 March aged 90. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz won both the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for 2007. Current debates There is a discussion regarding further task forces for other genres of fiction now taking place here. WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project.
