• Dl2000, this whole thing was copied from somewhere--it's on Gutenberg (as self-published), and it's in other places as well--we might find it in the history of this article. Kiryathil Nair

Please stop adding the word Kshatriya before Nair in the kiryathil nair article. Almost all historians describe Nairs as shudra's and not kshatriyas. In fact as far as I know, there were no kshatriyas in the south at all, barring some "Varma's" who became kshatriyas. So, nairs merely performed the duties of a kshatriya but were sudra's in caste. Kerala had the Varna and Avarna system, where in the Varna system belonged the Brahmins, Kshatriyas(Varma) and shudra(Nairs) and in the Avarna belonged all those castes below nairs. Please be educated about all these before you start making unnecessary misleading edits. Also, I have noticed that you constantly add the Pillai(Kerala title) back into the list. This has not been documented by anyone and is against Wikipedia's policies to add original research. Please provide proper documented references for your statements or delete them immediately. Anyone who was a savarna was lumped into the nair group with the exception of Brahmins which is why it cannot be considered as a unitary caste, rather a multitude of different castes. Kiryathil nairs were different in that they were considered the original descendants of nagas who were kshatriyas. Other subcastes have different origins. You mentioned varmas but they were kiryathil, illathu nairs who underwent hiranyagharba rituals of which they had to do every seven years and pay a great donation to the namboothiri Brahmins. Overall, nairs have kshatriya, one vaishya, and shudra subcastes within it but the original nairs, being the kiryathil nairs, had kshatriya origins which is supported by historians Cmsmith1967 (talk) 11:43, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
