Shared account edit

Hi ChiefConvict I noticed you used the term "we" in your undelete request here. Please see WP:NOSHARE. Accounts should be a single individual and not shared. Please confirm you are the only person using this account. Also, if you are affiliated with the subject, you have conflict of interest and will need to declare so. Please see Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for additional guidance. S0091 (talk) 16:08, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, It will be myself as an individual and I have declared on my account. I am new to Wikipedia, apologies for the mistakes. I will be taking press articles published to create the Wikipedia page for Convict Games, the company I have co-founded. I want to ensure Convict Games is recorded on Wikipedia for future people. Thanks. ChiefConvict (talk) 16:45, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reply. There is a userbox you can place on your user page, {{Template:UserboxCOI|Convict Games}} , to declare your COI. I think you should just be able to copy/paste it from this message but let me know if you run into issues. Thanks again. S0091 (talk) 16:54, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for adding the COI template! I will leave a welcome message with additional information about editing Wikipedia. I do see above you are planning to use press releases as your sourcing. That will not be sufficient to establish notability, which requires significant coverage by independent reliable sources. Press releases come from the subject so are not independent, similar to their web or social media sites. Games need to meet Wikipedia's general notability guidelines. You my find this essay helpful. Actually, WP:NCORP, the guideline for organizations, has some great examples of what is considered "independent" and "significant" (starting just above WP:CORPDEPTH) that you may want to check out to get an idea of what is required. Thanks for the info. I have already switched to using press articles. I decided to update and rewrite the Convict Games's page today. I have submitted a draft for review. Thank you for the help and assistance with this. I hope I have done this new page up to standard.ChiefConvict (talk) 18:30, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I changed the Company Philosophy section to just Overview. If you disagree with the change, feel free to revert back. What I see in similar articles is a History section, then Releases. Something to think about anyway. I make no judgement as to the sourcing but wonder if they support the game(s) more so than the company. Will see how the drunk koala bear plays to the masses, lol. Looks good. Thanks for the fix and edit. Makes sense. I think they prove Convict Games well and were the first articles establishing Convict Games and STONE. I will continue to expand the page ahead, but figured it was a good start. ChiefConvict (talk) 19:25, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Just keep in mind if the article is accepted you nor anyone affiliated with the company should edit the article directly in any significant way. You can make edit requests though. I know folks believe having a Wikipedia article about themselves/company is the jam, but after being around this place for awhile, I personally would avoid it. Once its published, you have really no control over the content. S0091 (talk) 19:44, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
