Thanks for uploading File:About cast001.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Please stop

edit

Please do not upload any more images you downloaded from various Web sites. With few exceptions, we cannot use copyrighted content on Wikipedia. Images such as the ones you are uploading are routinely deleted. (ESkog)(Talk) 23:56, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ceauntay, your first 58 sockpuppets have been blocked, but since you have behaved well up to now, I've left you alone. Do not upload non-free images. They will be deleted as copyright violations. There are exceptions, but you do not have the necessary experience to create the necessary justifications for their use, and your editing history does not inspire confidence. I have deleted the files, and you can consider yourself under editing restriction: don't upload any more images. Acroterion (talk) 00:06, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

For your help, you can go to Wikipedia:Upload for an information of how you can upload and harmless a file, Friend... 71.72.230.95 (talk) 20:19, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'd missed this discussion; since you've respected the image upload restriction (thank you for doing so), I hadn't been watching this page. To answer as best I can:
  • Why would you upload a "fake picture" to an encyclopedia that requires that contributions be verifiable and at least nominally true?
  • See above.
  • If you upload a picture and claim that you created it entirely yourself, you must have done just that: every element must have been created by you, and it cannot be derived from any other work.
  • If you found a file on the Internet and it is not explicitly licensed as CC-BY-SA or is not in the public domain as a work of the US federal government, you may not upload it except under a fair-use rationale, which requires use only where it is absolutely needed and where there is no free-content replacement. I recommend that you avoid fair-use images, as it's tricky and likely to lead to misunderstandings.

Hope this helps. Acroterion (talk) 14:36, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:AlbusDumbledoreHP6.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:AlbusDumbledoreHP6.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 07:10, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Chipmunks2soundtrack.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chipmunks2soundtrack.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Marcus Qwertyus (signs his posts) 20:22, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Hannah Montana. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. 117Avenue (talk) 23:41, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:SD Camp Scare cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SD Camp Scare cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Image deletions

edit

I have reviewed many of your recent image creations and found that many violate our criteria for speedy deletion. In particular, we have criteria for clear infringement of copyright and hoaxes. As the list is rather extensive, I will not detail it here; however, please stop:

  1. making things up which don't really exist, and trying to upload them to Wikipedia; and
  2. using copyrighted elements which don't belong to you in creating new images. (ESkog)(Talk) 00:50, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Breaking Dawn Part 1 logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Breaking Dawn Part 1 logo.jpg.
