Image Copyright problem

Hi Cascadianow!
We thank you for uploading Image:Dougflag1.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

License tagging for File:Cascdia.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cascdia.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:07, 11 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Bumperstickerfinal2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Bumperstickerfinal2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AdmrBoltz 04:04, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Doug Flag

edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Doug Flag, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Doug flag. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 19:11, 18 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest

edit

Please read WP:COI and you might want to respond to my post at WP:COIN concerning your edits and the website cascadianow.org. Dougweller (talk) 12:46, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Request reason:

Name Misunderstanding ~ The name Cascadianow is in no way representative of the 'Cascadian Independence Project'. This is like claiming someone using the user name 'Cascadia' represents everyone within the bioregion. I have had this username for several years, just as the Cascadian Independence Project has also been around for years and there has been NO conflict before, or mention of conflict of interests. When I make comments, I make them as an individual, not as an organization or with any sort of authority. My primary edits reflect additions to Cascadia (surprise) but in are in no way are promotional. I mean for god sakes, I started the Cascadia article, back before it was even split into (independence movement) 3 or 4 years ago. In that time, I think it has turned into a fantastic resource for people to learn more about what Cascadia is in a general sense. I have not made any promotional or self promotional edits and am somewhat offended by this whole process. I think that the Cascadian Independence Project has a total of one sentence in the entire article mentioning its existence, under 'Secessionist Activism' along with all the other organizations that advocate for a version of Cascadia, and I think that is totally reasonable. I have not sought to alter this in any way or add more. It is my goal to create a comprehensive resource about everything Cascadia and to make that as accessible as possible. As a recent history graduate I try to present an unbiased and accurate accounts for often times information that does not previously exist on wikipedia such as - documenting statistics, creating and uploading maps and photographs and digging up obscure passages about Cascadia in academic and news articles. I am slightly offended that after the years of editing that I have been doing with no previous problems now I have now been blocked. A second opinion would be very much appreciated

Decline reason:

Unfortunately, what you describe makes it even more difficult, considering the nature of your edits. Indeed, you venture into WP:COI territory instead. As the username policy is quite clear that if the name appears to be related to an organization or movement, it is not permissible. You can either simply create a new username, or, if you would like your history of edits to move to a new name with you, please use {{unblock-spamun|newname}} and you can be unblocked in order to go request a name change. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
