As you can see in the links, even the top-10s are different. Hence only one being mentioned is not 'sufficient', as it does not give any idea regarding the other.

The difference is the same as between a World Soccer Player of the Year and FIFA World Player of the Year (one being from a publication while the other is from a football governing body). Therefore, since both are retained, same should be the case with the BBC and UEFA awards.

It refers to the other pronunciation, but essentially labels it a mistake. Perhaps other sources will be found. I speak General American English and I've only ever heard it pronounced with the two syllables. Do you come from elsewhere? Ah yes. Now that I go on Forvo I see that the only British speaker pronounces it your way, in stark contrast to everyone else on that site. Hi, again. I just wanted to inquire about what the issue was regarding the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo not only has equalled Zidane and Ronaldo with 3 FIFA Awards, but also Cruyff, Platini and van Basten with 3 Ballon d'Or Awards? The FIFA Ballon d'Or is technically recognised as both, so I don't really think it's anything libelous or unverified; even UEFA states that Cristiano Ronaldo has tied Platini, etc. I also remember when Messi won the 2011 Award, there was widespread news regarding the fact that he had equalled Platini by winning 3 consecutive Ballon d'Or Awards, and that he was also only the third payer to win three FIFA Awards. Sorry, I misread that link, and you are correct about that. However, I did manage find another one on the FIFA Ballon d'Or website, and although it does state, as you have elucidated, that the previous winners of the Award prior to its inception in 2014 ARE in fact the FIFA World Player winners, in the "details" sub-pages, the names of the France Football Ballon d'Or winners are also included alongside the FIFA World Player Winners; furthermore, France Football is still a representative of the FIFA Ballon d'Or, therefore I think it could still be argued that the new Award still represents both organisations' previous awards, in particular as in the later editions of the Ballon d'Or, any player, regardless of nationality or the league in which they were playing, were eligible to be nominated. Yes, I understand what you are saying, and after looking up the FIFA Ballon d'Or on the official website in more detail, I see that you are right, and my assumption was incorrect. What is still slightly ambiguous, to me at least, is that, although on the main page of the link you had posted, under the 2001 sub-heading, there was no mention of Owen, if you click on "edition details", a new page opens up, and Figo is listed as the FIFA Ballon d'Or winner, and Owen as the France Football Ballon d'Or winner (http://m.fifa.com/ballon-dor/history/edition=2001/index.html), therefore that does seem to imply that the former France Football Ballon d'Or also has some significance (in this link it also lists the winners of both awards http://www.fifa.com/ballon-dor/history/index.html - I'm not trying to be difficult here, by the way; I do see your point, I understand what you are saying, and I agree with you; if you don't mind, I would just like to discuss this further with you!).

Hi...I know it's random to bring this up again, but I was just on the France Football Website and I saw just by chance that they have also included the FIFA Ballon d'Or winners in their Ballon d'Or awards list along with the original Ballon d'or winners (http://www.francefootball.fr/ballon-d-or/palmares/); it also said on their official site that france football journalists still have a say in the election process...I find this new information all the more confusing...to me it doesn't seem to only be a FIFA Award but a fusion of both awards, and it seems to have replaced both (http://www.fifa.com/ballon-dor/history/index.html - this FIFA Ballon d'Or honours page from 1991-2009 lists the winners of both awards, for example...and prior to 1991 it lists all the Ballon d'Or winners - even though they were only European players). Yes, I know and agree (especially as until '95 France Football stated that only European players playing in Europe were even eligible for their award, whereas South American players were awarded the South American Player of the Year Award, and African players were awarded the African Footballer of the Year Award and so on), but from 2007, players playing in any league became eligible for the Ballon d'or...so although it was still often referred to as the European Footballer of the Year in the media, I know that it had infact become a global award, no longer a continental one, and I remember reading an article about it when Kakà won the award (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7750910.stm - here is a similar article to the one I had read)...so the FIFA Ballon d'Or does seem to be an amalgamation of the most recent incarnation of the Ballon d'Or (as an international award from 2007 onwards - http://www.fifa.com/ballon-dor/history/index.html - this FIFA Ballon d'Or honours page from 1991-2009 lists the winners of both awards, for example...and prior to 1991 it lists all the Ballon d'Or winners - even though they were only European players)) and the FIFA World Player of the Year...and France Football would have had to give FIFA permission to use the "Ballon d'Or" name for the new award...I suppose it doesn't really matter, and there isn't really an obvious answer, but I just personally think Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's FIFA Ballon d'Or awards should count for both awards in that case. Adding well formatted references is actually quite easy:

1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "Cite". Click on it.
2. Then click on "Templates".

Wikipedia appears to agree with you, under British Empire, it lists ALL the constitutional arrangements (inc colonies) in the British 'sphere of influence'. Personally I would always make a distinction between colonies (largely the result of settlement, and largely self-governing), and Empire (largely ruled from Britain, undemocratic for the majority and largely the result of conquest).

Specifically I've never heard of the US colonies being referred to as 'Empire'. However, regardless of whether the distinction is worth making, we are I think agreed that English spread as a result of widespread political/military/trading power of Britain and the predominance of English in countries such as the US, Canada etc.Pincrete (talk) 11:42, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Is the Daily Mail in this case a 'reliable source'? Since it doesn't fit at all with what is written in the book or what Ibrahimovic is saying in every interview, the answer has to be no. I have never read or heard an reliable source claiming that his version isn't correct, and I think I'm never gonna see it, either. I would appreciate if we could reach a solution, and I hope most users of Wikipedia has the same goal with this site. Your use of overflow-x:auto;

There are multiple issues with this property. Double scroll bars in naive implementations confuse users. Poor indication of scroll content. Users with low resolution of 1024x600 (Netbook, about 1010x520 viewable) are unable to read the first line of content and scroll simultaneously (no tilt scroll wheel). This is the case with:

• Kaká 655px tall
• Ronaldinho 806px tall
• Tony Scott 833px and 768px tall
• Pelé 669px tall

Which are taller than a Netbook's resolution. And the same problems extend to low vision users. So you need a better explanation than the vague "Overflow: article text unreadable". If its a personal preference issue, write a user script. — Dispenser 04:49, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

We have a separate skin (Minerva) for those devices which uses overflow on tables site-wide. If you do not wish to use that skin, we could also implement tablet specific JavaScript. Doing it site-wide is better than you attempting to do it on an article by article basis. The majority of tables would need -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch; to use their native kinetic scrolling and widths should be specified with em to guarantee font scaling. — Dispenser 15:51, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
