Using CN tags edit

Hi, just wanted to let you know that [citation needed] tags are to be used to mark that a section has no citation and not that a section needs expansion or additional content. If you feel that the article is lacking information, Be Bold and expand the article yourself! Thanks-1.02 editor (T/C) 10:41, 12 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

June 2019 edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! IamNotU (talk) 12:17, 17 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Removal of other user's message from my talk page edit

Please explain why you removed this "Wikipedia:WikiLove" message from my talk page: [1], and left this message: [2] accusing the person who sent it to me of vandalism. I don't see any reason to think it's vandalism. --IamNotU (talk) 12:25, 22 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ok Sir. I think it is vandalism as he put that “a kitten for you” which does no benefit to anyone.
CalEditerILikeTrain (talk) 03:30, 23 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
That's not vandalism, it's a friendly message. Please revert/remove your comment from User talk:Cole steinhoff1, thanks. You may want to read: Wikipedia:Assume good faith. --IamNotU (talk) 10:41, 23 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect usage of "distinguish" and related templates edit

Hi, I noticed that you are continuing to add {{distinguish}} templates to articles in ways that are incorrect, despite previous explanations about it in edit summaries undoing the edits.([3], [4]). Please read the usage information at Template:Distinguish as requested, thanks. The template is only to be used for distinguishing misspelled search terms, where the difference between the words is obvious, like comma/coma. These edits made today, distinguishing Pashto from Swazi language are incorrect, because neither "Pashto", nor any term that redirects to the article, is similar in spelling to the word "Swazi". Since it's not possible to accidentally end up at the Pashto article when searching for "Swazi" or "Swazi language", the "distinguish" template is not appropriate. Searching for the terms "Swati" or "Swati language" already lead to disambiguation pages, so again, a "distinguish" template is not required on the Pashto article. Your addition of {{Other uses|Swati (disambiguation)}} was incorrect, please read the usage information at Template:Other uses. The linked disambiguation page is about other uses of "Swati", not of "Pashto". If the word "Swati" redirected to "Pashto", then it would be possible to add Template:Redirect as: {{Redirect|Swati}}. But it doesn't. --IamNotU (talk) 13:30, 23 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please, no signature games edit

Please review the behavioural guideline at WP:SIGNATURE, and do not play games with your signature as you did with your posts to User talk:IamNotU. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:18, 4 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

July 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:21, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I’ll help make a wiki, please unblock me. Not all my edits are bad faith. I under stand my wrongs and am sorry. -Cal-of-Hogwarts (talk) 01:47, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. Please stae in your own words what you did wrong and what you would do instead. Further discussion to follow   Dlohcierekim (talk) 02:40, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Editor review and unblock discussion edit

  • You removed a WkiLove message? And vandal warned for leaving someone a templated message that we use commonly. Did you not read and understand the message? What was unclear about the intent?
  • You said that not all your edits were "bad faith". Please explain what you mean. Here that means deliberately doing something one knows is wrong. It means maliciousness. Did you mean that, or did you mean poorly or badly done in the sense of an error. .  Dlohcierekim (talk) 02:45, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Note to reviewing admin--the templated message is incomplete. The block log is more informatiive.  Dlohcierekim (talk) 03:08, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Considering the user had ample opportunities to discuss their motives and respond to warnings, they did not. They seem to be here mostly to play around in a sandbox, although where they decided to sandbox was questionable. They did it in articles, they did it in other users' user space, they did it in their user space, they also created a new account to continue the bullshit. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:43, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and here's an earlier warning I dropped with examples like this useless edit test in Wikipedia space, this unhelpful test in Wikipedia template space, and this edit, where apparently the user can't figure out how to match every other entry on that page. And another editor pointed out that CalEditor posted this to their talk page, posturing as if they have the ability to delete articles. Note also the user's deleted contributions, where they created pointless templates that conflict with well-established community preferences. I mean, did CalEditer really think that nobody had ever thought to create a spoiler warning template on the biggest encyclopedia on the planet? Note also the disruptive edits in other users' personal areas. Note the pointless Reference unclear template, which just duplicated {{non-sequitur}}. There are numerous problems in live space as well. This is why they were blocked not only for not being here to contribute to an encyclopedia, but also for competency concerns. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:07, 6 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

CalEditerILikeTrain, I'm sorry to see that you got blocked. I guess I'm not really surprised though, since you've been mostly doing a lot of goofing around, and not much actual helpful editing in articles. What happened with your efforts to learn how to make citations? Did you give up? If you want to get unblocked, you'll have to make another request and explain in your own words what you did wrong, and what you will do to improve. It's not enough to just say "I'm sorry". See WP:NICETRY. I'd also suggest not fooling around with your signature in the unblock request, you are not "Cal-of-Hogwarts"... you need to convince people that you're going to be serious about editing here, and not continue with childish games. Would you be interested in being "adopted" by another user who would help guide you? Take a look at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user. --IamNotU (talk) 14:36, 7 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

@IamNotU:. I so appreciate your help, but I have decided to log out, and stop doing editing, after some consideration. Your help has helped me so much. I therefore wish you farewell, as I am leaving Wikipedia for ever. Bye.

CalEditerILikeTrain (talk/[[6]])

@IamNotU: @Cyphoidbomb: @Dlohcierekim: Hi, it has been 3 years since I was blocked for goofing around and competency concerns. I failed to understand at that time, but I was actually fooling around and not helping Wikipedia much (I didn't even know how to spell the word 'editor', or distinguish square brackets from curvy ones, at that time; I was really too incompetent). Now, I understand that I had been rather foolish to have done this, and I just am very sorry. I just want to have this account vanish. I don't even want to continue editing, can you please just help me delete this account. Thank you so much!

It is not technically possible to delete an account(accounts also cannot be deleted for legal reasons), You are welcome to stop using and abandon your account(as it probably had already appeared to others as you hadn't posted in two years). A vanishing is not an option because your account is not in good standing. 331dot (talk) 10:07, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
