Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, Caesarc. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Gene Caesar, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:00, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have already filed a statement disclosing my conflict of interest. I would like to make it clear that there can be no financial conflict of interest, as the author died in 1986 and as his daughter I have never received any royalties for his work. But I believe that this author represents part of our cultural heritage (and Google Books agrees with me). Gene Caesar published hundreds of stories and articles on American history, natural history and outdoor life in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as several books, one of which earned a national award. I hope you will consider this article. I am happy to work with an editor and revise to make the article more neutral in its tone. Thank you for your consideration. Where have you filed this filed disclosing statement? I only ask as this should be done either on your own user page, or on the talk page of each article/draft to which the COI relates, or preferably both. I can find no such disclosure; in fact, neither User:Caesarc nor Draft talk:Gene Caesar exist yet. Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:38, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for this. Perhaps I did not submit it correctly. I will try again. Caesarc (talk) 16:05, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

August 2023 edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Theroadislong (talk) 21:11, 13 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your comment! I have removed material with only primary sources.
Could you offer any suggestions for acceptable sources of birth, death and marriage dates, given that scanned certificates and sites like MyHeritage are not accepted? Caesarc (talk) 19:01, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Here's a search page from MSU Libraries with birth and death dates. Will you accept that as a public record for those dates?
