What is the Electric Car?

Hi BurlAlert. Thanks for your help. YES! The article should have been titled as you suggested. I recreated it and now I need to get What is the Electric Car and "What is the Electric Car'' deleted. Did I do the right thing in recreating the article? Or is there a way to change the title? Is there a "proper" way to have an admin delete my mis-titled versions? Thanks, Ebikeguy (talk) 20:35, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

I added {{db-a10}}, which is "Recently created article that duplicates an existing topic". Not sure if this is the preferred method, but hopefully an admin will see that talk page and get the idea. --BurtAlert (talk) 20:39, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, and sorry for my addled brain! Ebikeguy (talk) 20:47, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

New Years Message for WikiProject United States

With the first of what I hope will be monthly newsletters I again want to welcome you to the project and hope that as we all work together through the year we can expand the project, create missing articles and generally improve the pedia thought mutual cooperation and support. Now that we have a project and a solid pool of willing members I wanted to strike while the iron is hot and solicite help in doing a few things that I believe is a good next step in solidifiing the project. I have outlined a few suggestions where you can help with on the projects talk page. This includes but is not limited too updating Portal:United States, assessing the remaining US related articles that haven't been assessed, eliminating the Unrefernced BLP's and others. If you have other suggestions or are interested in doing other things feel free. I just wanted to offer a few suggestions were additional help is needed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions or you can always post something on the projects talk page. If you do not want to recieve a monthly message please put an * before your name on the members page.--Kumioko (talk) 02:44, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Arlington dog mural

it's a little too WP:oneevent, and newsy. i'm kinda waiting for a resolution, but it does go with the WP:Public art, mural saga "Censored US anti-war mural shows some art subjects are still taboo" Slowking4 (talk) 20:48, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Removal of note (reference)

Hi. An IP user has removed a note (should that section not fall under References?) from the Protectorate page. In itself it is no big deal and I have reverted it, but I see from the user's talkpage that there is a long history of disruptive behaviour and numerous warnings. Why I am bringing this up here is simply because you are aware of the situation and possibly can deal with it based on past behaviour. I admit I have no experience of conflict resolution on WP, so perhaps I should have done this differently. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 09:49, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there, thanks for letting me know. I referred the IP to WP:AIV. An admin will probably give them a ban of at least 24 hours, maybe longer since it seems like this has been a persistent problem. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask! BurtAlert (talk) 16:58, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:03, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Wood Island Light Keepers reference

I know that it makes a messy, large reference superscript when we put the tag on the section head, but don't you think applying to the last keeper makes it look like the reference applies only to him? . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to mecontribs) 12:35, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, you're right. I really don't like the superscript in the heading though. What if we put something like "The following is a list of keepers at this lighthouse:[1]" and then have the list as is? BurtAlert (talk) 17:17, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
This is probably more discussion than the question is worth -- take a look at my last change and feel free to do anything you like without further discussion. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to mecontribs) 14:59, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
That definitely looks better than the first one and is more clear than mine. Thanks for your help! Now if we could only get it out of the contents menu... BurtAlert (talk) 16:21, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Belden Stratford Hotel

Hi! Thanks for nominating the Belden Stratford Hotel for DYK, but it's definitely not ready yet, so I've removed it from the DYK page. When I get a chance, I'll try to expand the article, but I have a few other things I'd like to do first. (Of course, you're free to work on the article, too, if you want.) Zagalejo^^^ 05:32, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there! To tell you the truth, I kind of nominated the article just to try out the template. It's an interesting article and I think I will work on it. I'll expand it a bit in the next few days and then let's see where we can take it from there. BurtAlert (talk) 16:24, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
