Welcome! edit

Hello, BlueHeron310, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 331dot (talk) 20:42, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much, talk:331dot|talk. I disclosed the client's identity two weeks ago in my first question/comment within The Teahouse: Dr. Shahrooz Sean Kelishadi. One responding administrator gave me a link to follow COI guidelines. Another gave me this: "https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Shahrooz_Sean_Kelishadi&action=edit&redlink=1 create it here then add {{AFC submission|||ts=20190417220813|u=BlueHeron310|ns=3}} and submit it for review." Do I have to mention Dr. Kelishadi directly on my new user page as a part of the COI disclosure? If so, I'll do so as soon as you reply.

You have to mention what your COI is, exactly. Per WP:PAID you need to disclose who is paying you, who your client is(if different than who is paying you) and any other relevant role or relationship you have. 331dot (talk) 22:21, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Disclosure edit

You will need to disclose who the subject is, and be aware that your edits will be meticulously scrutinised, paid editing maybe allowed but is VERY much discouraged. Theroadislong (talk) 21:30, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

As noted at WP:PAID, you should use the articles for creation process by creating a draft. You can use the article creation wizard at WP:WIZARD to start the draft. VQuakr (talk) 21:34, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've fixed your post so that it does not read as a submission. 331dot (talk) 22:17, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
For what it's worth, your first contribution was today, not two weeks ago. I do not see any history of a mention of Dr. Kelishadi in the Teahouse archives, either. VQuakr (talk) 23:56, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Disclosure of conflict of interest and identity of article subject/client/payor edit

I wish to write an unbiased article about a longtime, notable client of mine, Dr. Shahrooz Sean Kelishadi, for review and possible acceptance for publication on Wikipedia. Dr. Kelishadi wishes to pay me for this work. While being introduced to Wiki, I was told that such an arrangement constitutes or may constitute a conflict of interest within the Wiki world, and that I must disclose this COI and my client’s name as both the article’s subject and the payor; I am fulfilling that responsibility here. Additionally, I understand that my submission of said article likely would garner intense scrutiny regarding compliance with Wiki’s rules; such scrutiny would be reasonable. Related, I invite well-intentioned, experienced Wiki editors to guide and assist me through this process, and I offer my thanks in advance. BlueHeron310 (talk) 23:34, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the disclosure. You can start a draft using the instructions above at any time. I do want you to know, though, that I do not think your draft will be accepted. I did a quick Google search for Dr. Kelishadi and my impression is that he does not meet the notability requirements listed at WP:BASIC. Because notability is an attribute of a subject not of an article, it is not something that can be "fixed" by editing. VQuakr (talk) 23:59, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please explain why you think that Shahrooz Sean Kelishadi meets the standards at Wikipedia:Notability (people). He looks like a run-of-the-mill plastic surgeon to me. Wikipedia is not a directory of all plastic surgeons. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:42, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your thread has been archived edit

Hi BlueHeron310! You created a thread called Please confirm that you will accept drafted article from me about my notable client, rather than from him, after I disclose COI on my user page at Wikipedia:Teahouse, but it has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days. You can still find the archived discussion here. If you have any additional questions that weren't answered then, please create a new thread.
