Howard B. Stroud Sr.(born March 31, 1930)was an influential educator and community leader from in Athens,Georgia. He is the son of Emma Flanigan and George E. Stroud, was a barber at the shop on Jackson Street. He later became an insurance agent, and then one of the first bus drivers in the Clarke County School District. He was also the grandson of Edward D. Stroud, also an influential educator in the Athens area.

Biography Howard Stroud has a resume that, single-spaced, covers two pages just for organizations he has served on to better his community and for awards and recognitions he has received. He has not only been an educator and counselor all his adult life, but has been deeply involved in his church as a deacon. His experiences with the integration of the schools in Clarke County are part of the history of our nation.
