September 2013 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Elizabeth Kostova has been reverted.
Your edit here to Elizabeth Kostova was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://beastra.wordpress.com/2013/06/12/elizabeth-kostova-writing-is-like-a-carpenter-craft/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 18:36, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Unblock request edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Beastra (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I am a journalist and I had taken an interview with the writer Elizabeth Kostova. This interview was published on my professional blog at the following address: http://beastra.wordpress.com/2013/06/12/elizabeth-kostova-writing-is-like-a-carpenter-craft/ I tried to add this link in the reference section of the entry for Elizabeth Kostova in Wikipedia but I was blocked due to "conflict of interest". Clearly there is a misunderstanding since my blog is the only place on which this interview is published. Please be so kind to unblock my access to Wikipedia! Thank you!

Decline reason:

It's pretty straightforward: we don't get to put links to our own websites on Wikipedia. If you wish to be unblocked, you must agree to refrain from ever doing that again. --jpgordon::==( o ) 23:09, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Beastra (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I agree to refrain from posting links to my personal blog on Wikipedia. Please unblock my profile. Thanks!

Accept reason:

I am not at all convinced the initial block was warranted or that an absolute assurance that Beatstra would never cite her blog should be required. See discussion here and here. In any event, Beastra has given that assurance, so I am unblocking. Newyorkbrad (talk) 21:51, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Response to questions edit

I saw that you posted a question on this page. From now on, please add new comments to the bottom of the page. This will increase the chances that someone will see the comments.

There was a technical problem with the unblocking (I forgot to click of the buttons I need to click to accomplish an unblocking). I've done this now, so you should be able to edit.

You should also be able to create new articles, but to avoid any future problems, why don't you mention here what article you have in mind, just to make sure it fits within our guidelines. Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 23:18, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for removing my block and making me able to create new pages in Wikipedia. I would like to make an entry in the Wiki of a new company called MoodMe - http://www.moodme.biz/blog/. I would like to write a little history and what it is doing. I think it would be a page just like the informational pages on Wiki of Google and Facebook, and would be useful for users. Do you think it would be fine and in accordance with the rules of publishing on Wikipedia? Thank you in advance for your reply!
Hi, I've moved this to the bottom of the page where it belongs and made it readable; I don't know why you are enclosing your requests in < ! - - and - - >, but that makes it a comment that nobody can see until they look at the article source page. --jpgordon::==( o ) 14:46, 1 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Любомир Канов edit

Hello Beastra. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Любомир Канов".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Любомир Канов}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 10:21, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
