Speedy deletion nomination of Nariman Mehta edit

A tag has been placed on Nariman Mehta, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Removing Speedy at Nariman Mehta edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Nariman Mehta. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 17:48, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Refs edit

OK, your father-in-law may well be notable but unless you put some refs into the article PDQ, it will get deleted. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:05, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Nariman Mehta edit

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Clumsy edit

The fact is that Nariman is probably notable but the way you are trying to create a Wikipedia article is a little clumsy. Re-create your article - the text at sites.google.com is reasonably encyclopedic so use it. But add two or three references from reliable sources and above all create the links to and from Bupropion.

Please go to this page and add the following:

Text is available under the <a name="lic" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License" >Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike Licence</a>.

Then go to Talk:Nariman Mehta and add a note of explanation including this link. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:30, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you for your advice. Could you check my revisions? -- Beach4444 (talk) 13:37, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

You were supposed to add the text to your page at sites.google.com as HTML! Ie. so that we would not see <a name="lic" … But the purpose is served which is all that matters. Cannot really advise how to fix because I am not familiar with how you edit google sites but the finished result should look like the "Text is available …" message at the bottom of every Wikipedia page.

I have tidied Nariman Mehta a bit. The main thing needed is to fix the "naked" links - we don't want to see http://. Use "piped" links as per what I did to the link to kdirani.com. (Sorry I got interrupted mid-way through writing this.) — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 03:47, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Nariman Mehta edit

The article Nariman Mehta has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject does not appear to meet either WP:PROF or WP:GNG (references do not discuss him in detail). Appears to be a competent, but not particularly notable scientist in the way Wikipedia defines it.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. In my opinion, the article wasn't ready for publication in main space. I have tagged it with some issues, and left a note about notability concerns on the talk page.
In any case, congratulations on getting it approved! ~Amatulić (talk) 13:57, 24 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
