Notability of Sonim Technologies
A tag has been placed on Sonim Technologies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. De728631 (talk) 16:36, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of S0cket
editYou may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on S0cket, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hairhorn (talk) 16:51, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Retitling articles
editHey, I was just wondering- why did you move the page Technology of the Dune universe to Technology of the Science Fiction universe and Technology of the Science Dune universe? This didn't really seem to make much sense and to be honest, with a page like that you'd need to request a name change via the instructions at WP:REQMOVE and explain why you wanted to change the name. The current name (Technology of the Dune universe) is much more concise so you'd have to give a very good reason for its change. I don't see where any title moves would be seen as uncontroversial, so you'd have to open up a discussion first.
Now if you were trying to create a page for sci-fi technology as a whole, you may need to proceed with caution. There are simply too many sci-fi universes out there for a page to contain every piece of technology, if your intention was to create a page that lists all of the technology. You would also need to show how this would really expand on Fictional technology. I would say that your best bet would be to talk to someone at Wikipedia:WikiProject Science Fiction (a project devoted to science fiction) about creating a category that lists the various pages that deal with various sci-fi universes' technology. Since you are a fairly new user (meaning that you have very few edits), I would caution you against creating this category yourself. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:31, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi, I've never done this before so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I was just trying to make a copy of an article to use as a prototype for another article. Ha! Ha! Ha! ... I HOPE you are innocent! I'll TRY to be nice. The subject/substance was much less important than the structure/protocols. What I NEEDED was a copy in my sandbox ... apparently. Operator: "I wanted to be free from ... bias" :) Thanks for your courage Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) ! :)
Wikipedia and the spectrum...
editOddly enough, I've actually found people who are on the Autism Spectrum tend to be *better* for certain tasks on Wikipedia that those who aren't. Take a look at various entities at "WikiFauna" Template:WikiFauna. See what entries line up with *your* methods of working. That might help align you with ways of working. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. My wife is a member of the Asperger's Association of Greater Washington.Naraht (talk) 17:18, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
You are very insightful Naraht (talk). I'd like to thank you for your courage as well. I normally save that label for special occasions but smoke was coming out of my ears. :) I'm in the integration camp in opposition to the separatists; the politics can be excruciating! :) You are what I think of as an "Empathy Human" ... a "seeing eye dog" for the "empathetically challenged". :) Ladies and Gentlemen, I will now juggle chainsaws!: I estimate ~90% of the editors are ... you know ... whether labelled or not ... EXTERMINATE! WE ARE SUPERIOR BEINGS! EXTERMINATE! ~Dalek Kahn! :) source: me arse! Sorry, "acting normal" is hard work so I like to play to manage the stress ... and Dr. Who was on the TV ... that was 90% silliness! :) I'm not sure I have the courage to visit "WikiFauna" yet. BTW, 48 hours with no sleep now, that's my excuse. Naraht (talk) I'm out of gas! :) 24.255.7.23 (talk) 14:57, 18 May 2015 (UTC) ?
