Speedy deletion of Jane Sherman edit

A tag has been placed on Jane Sherman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2008 edit

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Jane Sherman. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. faithless (speak) 23:47, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did by creating the article Jane F. Sherman. This is your last warning. If you persist, you will be blocked from editing. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 17:03, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violations edit

You wrote:

There was nio copyright violation. United Israel Appeal, Inc, is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Jewish Communities.

I'm not sure how the latter fact is relevant: the content you placed in that article is still a copyright violation of the website of United Israel Appeal, Inc. Now you may very well be the holder of that copyright but in that case, you'll have to confirm this through the Wikimedia Foundation's Open-source Ticket Request System. However, if you are closely involved with United Israel Appeal, then you're editing under a conflict of interest which prevents you from writing objectively about the organization. Block edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeated copyright violations despite warnings. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Proposed deletion of Jane Fisher Sherman edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Jane Fisher Sherman, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Could not find reliable sources to establish notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. tedder (talk) 21:44, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

April 2009 edit

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to United Israel Appeal, Inc., as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. tedder (talk) 07:01, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:United Israel Appeal.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:United Israel Appeal.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 10:22, 7 June 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:22, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:United Israel Appeal.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:01, 8 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:01, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Habonim Dror edit

Please stop adding Bruce Arbit to the list of Habonim Dror alumni. He may be mentioned in another article, but he isn't sufficiently notable for a biography of his own. That means he isn't notable enough to be mentioned as a famous alumnus.

If you think Mr. Arbit is notable, please feel free to write an article about him and then add him to the Habonim Dror article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:11, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
