Lake Alice Photos
editHi, Just looking at the photos you have uploaded Image:Lake Alice aerial view.jpg , Image:WAN60281-3.jpg and Image:Lake Alice.jpg. Could you please confirm exactly who took these and when and what permission was given to release them? Also I reverted your recent edit to the article, I'm afraid you have to provide good external references for some of the claims you are making. I think there are several books and articles in mainstream publications about problems at the hospital so this shouldn't be too hard but you need to be careful in this sort of area. - SimonLyall 19:36, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Since you havn't answred my query I'll probably have to contact JRR Wrightson about the photos to check that they are not copyright violations. I'd prefer not to do this so if you could provide some documentation on them it would be appreciated. - SimonLyall 08:59, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Knife Edge, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mhking 01:33, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello. You've uploaded Image:TenFeetHighCover.jpg under creative commons and GNU Free Documentation License, stating that you own the copyright for it. Can you please confirm that you do indeed own the copyright? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 09:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Waikumete Cemetery, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.waitakere.govt.nz/cnlser/cm/history.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Manawatu Gorge photos
editG'day
Just wondering if I can replace one of your images on the Manawatu Gorge article with the following. I'm thinking it might show a bit of a different perspective and the article seems a bit short to have three images at this stage.
File permission problem with File:TenFeetHighCover.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:TenFeetHighCover.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 20:23, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
editThinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
