Image without license

edit

Unspecified source/license for Image:Joseph Vijay.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Joseph Vijay.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 01:19, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Vijay_King.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris 00:25, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Vijay Smart and Smilin.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Vijay Smart and Smilin.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:59, 20 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —SpaceFlight89 17:59, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Vettaikkaran.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Vettaikkaran.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —SpaceFlight89 18:01, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Azhagiya Thamizh Magan.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Azhagiya Thamizh Magan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —SpaceFlight89 18:19, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. —SpaceFlight89 18:20, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Vettaikkaran Promo.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Vettaikkaran Promo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Orphaned non-free image File:Vettaikkaran.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Vettaikkaran.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 05:47, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Pastor Daniel Stanley

edit

A tag has been placed on Pastor Daniel Stanley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. andy (talk) 16:31, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your article submission Pastor Daniel Stanley

edit

Hello Aravindakshansunil. It has now been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Pastor Daniel Stanley.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Improperly sourced content

edit

Hi there, though I'm sure you meant well, your edits here at List of highest-grossing Indian films was not adequately supported by a reliable source. We don't use random Twitter accounts like this as a reference because anybody with an internet connection can set up a Twitter account and claim to be an expert in any field. Content must come from reliable published sources with established reputations for fact-checking and a clear editorial policy. Also see our guidelines on user-generated content. Please do not resubmit these changes without providing a source that meets community standards. Thanks, and it's nothing personal. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:09, 17 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Primary sources

edit

Hi there, re: this edit, though you obviously mean well, it's problematic to use a primary source (a film's director, star, producer, distributor) for controversial content about their finances, because a primary source (i.e. someone who is financially involved in the project) would have every reason to inflate the financial data. For instance, a star would look better if the last movie they were in made a ton of money. A director would surely become a hot commodity if every film they directed pushed closer to 200 crore, etc. The information needs to be independently verified/estimated in order for it to be of any value to us. Thanks for understanding, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:02, 3 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
