Silent reversion

edit

Hi there, re: this edit, your silent reversion is unhelpful. You should not revert another user without providing a clear explanation in your edit summary. You've restored Star Parivaar awards, which by consensus should not be included, as they are self-aggrandising, in-house awards given to people on the same network. That's the intellectual equivalent of me bragging that I got the "most handsome" award from my mother. You get what I'm saying? We only care about awards that are independent and notable.

There's also no indication that the GARV awards are notable (it appears to be a web-based award run on a Weebly.com site), and there's no indication that the "New Talent Awards" are of any value either. A notable award is an award that most people know about, and that has been around for years. Presumably someone would have created an article about this award years ago if it were of any value. You should be aware that "award mills" are prolific and are used to promote people who otherwise might not win a notable award. Obviously we can't let that happen, since Wikipedia is not a forum for promotion. Also, re: these additions, we don't use blogs or even IMDb as references, as anyone can start a blog or random website, and people can change information at IMDb. Please find mainstream websites, like news sites, magazine sites, etc. See also WP:UGC. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:33, 8 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Harshad Chopda. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Diff: [1][2] For your edification, we are not required to list every award a subject has received, and per longstanding community preference (See WP:FILMCRITICLIST, for instance) we only care about notable awards. Notability must first be established through the creation of an article about the award, and that article must endure community scrutiny. Also, I believe that in October I asked you a question about what other accounts you've had, based on this post. I never received an answer. I'd appreciate one, please.
