Andrea Talmelli speedy deletion response.

Hi,

Regarding your comments: YES, I agree that Andrea Talmelli sounds like he ought to have an article. But it must be written in your own words, not copied from other sources. You also admitted to having lifted text from another website when contesting the deletion: in your words, "I took the paragraphs from this article by American Dan Albertson (http://www.composers21.com/history.htm). I can't write better than he."

It's not a question of whether you can "write better than he" - you should use the INFORMATION from the article to write a biography that gives the facts, and use the link as a citation/reference to support these statements. Do not copy and paste large sections of text as this lays Wikipedia open to potential legal action - even if you cite it, that does not protect us, and any such copyvio, where noted, must be deleted as per Wikipedia policy. Please see WP:Copyright problems.

In addition, you have also given us another reason to be cautious of the source, by telling us that the biography you copied was written by Andrea Talmelli himself. While autobiographical material can be used to support certain details (such as where someone was born, their date of birth, etc.), if the information is not readily available elsewhere, ideally sources should be third-party and verifiable.

Should the article be deleted please do not hesitate to recreate it, as long as you do so without copying it from other sources and write it in your own words. You may like to take it to WP:Articles for creation for editorial overview and support. Mabalu (talk) 11:22, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

Wikilinking

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

• dates
• years
• commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
• common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This applies to infoboxes, too.
