August 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions, including your edits to Krishnakumar Kunnath. However, please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not be libelous. Any controversial statements about a living person added to an article, or any other Wikipedia page, must include proper sources. Thank you. -- Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:35, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

OKAY. I SAY THIS ONCE and ONLY ONCE. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT add links to mesmerizer and/or that arsh whatever blog to KK's article. Fansites, and Blogs DO NOT count as proper refs, and if YOU ADD them again, I will issue more warnings.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Krishnakumar Kunnath. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. While everybody is welcome to help.. you just reverted what I did.. -- Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:03, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

What you added was duplicate info, and as such it should be avoided. There is already a perfomances section, PLEASE DO NOT add a section of the same.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 12:19, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

In south Indian names, like S Krishnan, S is the last name and Krishnan is the first. Not the other way round.--Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:09, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Using tags edit

Be careful when using the refimprove tags. You are overusing them in places where they aren't needed. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thanks for the tip -- Anik Ghosh (Talk) 18:43, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:KK performs for Indigo properties2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:KK performs for Indigo properties2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 16:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Note that the conversation on the Facebook page that you pointed to only asks permission for use on Wikipedia. A CC-BY license allows anyone to use it, not just Wikipedia - we would need confirmation that the copyright owner is actually releasing the image in that way. The WP:CONSENT page describes the formal confirmation process. --dave pape (talk) 16:15, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, for being so late in replying. I had not logged into my wikipedia account for a long time. Anyway, what should I do now? Should I ask the owner of this image to give permission for a CC-BY license in Facebook, or will he have to send an e-mail? Thanks! Anik Ghosh (Talk) 17:47, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Class change on KK? edit

Hi. Do you really have the right to change the class from Start to C like you did? It says on the screen "May be assigned by any reviewer". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bollyjeff (talkcontribs) 17:08, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I can. Anyone can change the class of an article up to B. Anik Ghosh (Talk) 17:37, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Interesting, because I see a lot of pages that are still marked Start that aren't all that bad. Maybe I will have to upgrade a few of them.--BollyJeff || talk 17:47, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but I am not sure about one thing. Does changing the class in a project affects the class of the article? I mean that even though I have changed the article's class in WikiProject India to C, it still shows start class in the article, beneath the title. By the way. Are you a KK fan?Anik Ghosh (Talk) 17:51, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't see the class listed on the page like you are saying. Where exactly is it? I am not really a fan of KK in particular. Just trying to improve BW articles in general. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bollyjeff (talkcontribs) 18:17, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Just beneath the title. It shows the class of the article.Anik Ghosh (Talk) 18:25, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, I am not seeing it. Maybe it's a web browser thing. I am using IE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bollyjeff (talkcontribs) 18:54, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:KK performs for Indigo properties2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:KK performs for Indigo properties2.jpg, which you've sourced to Sandip Patankar.

If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
