Hi,
It's okay about the (re)move ;-) But it's a bit odd because other articles have fi: lower in the list as well. Perhaps it's because fi: is "Suomi" and by placing it lower in the list, it's listed among other languages that start with an "S" as well? - Simeon87 07:39, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

C (programming language) Style revert
To wrp103: I saw you reverted my edit (changing from pre to source tags &emdash; in an attempt to help, by adding syntax highlighting). I'm just curious as to why -- are these now deprecated? Or is it simply because the syntax highlighting is ugly (in which case I think I agree!)? I ask simply because I don't want to repeat a mistake in future. Angus Lepper 13:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, people thought the formatting was ugly. As to whether the formatting is deprecated or not, I can't say, but I've never seen it used before. Hello Agnus, regarding the four '+'s, Dr. Stroustrup has responded personally to my emails and before this topic we were in occasional discussion regarding C++. Help me request
For future reference, and out of curiosity, is there a template to add the text that looks something like — the previous unsigned comment was left by...? Or is it added by a bot? It seems like something that would be handy to know; it really gets on my nerves when people (including myself, if I forget) don't sign their posts to talk pages. Hi Angus my name is Gina and I just placed a small article about Hotel Internet Marketing in Wikipedia. It has no promotional hype, just a definition of what Hotel Internet Marketing is and how Hotel entrepreneurs have expanded with internet use. I’m not sure why it has been tagged for speedy deletions and as far as I can see has already been deleted. Are you considering it spam or is it to short? I’ve looked through many Wikipedia articles some are longer but others are just as short. I understand that Cendyn in the past may have not followed your guide lines but I can assure you that will not happen again. Your procedures are a little confusing to me but I am trying to follow the requirements to the letter. Do you have some kind of template that I can view as to how an article should be submitted? I see you reverted an IP address' removal of the "closed" notice. That wasn't me, but he was right. Neither you nor the other admin should close this yet. This is a continuing problem with no sign of resolution. Another admin has been helping us with this, including starting to protect the articles the vandal typically targets, but he's got a ways to go yet. Baseball Bugs 16:45, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- All's swell. I am in discussion, at the moment, with the admin who posted the "close" notice. I had also reverted my reversion of the "closed" notice. I don't know which state it's in just now, but I'll set it back to "closed" if it's not, and meanwhile try to convince the admin to actually take some action against that guy. My apologies. I just now noticed your interesting May 22nd edit/comment on my article. Yop've raised the question of what an encyclopedic article should look like. Should it look like a magazine article in the National Geographic, for example? Or should it be more like an article you'd see in Scientific American? My background is technical writing, computer systems, programming, and web maintenance and design (Internet and corporate intranet), so I suppose my article probably does come across as looking like a technical paper. My apologies. Any suggestions on how I might change my format so it looks like what you'd expect to see in Wikipedia?
Since the tip wage credit is virtually unknown outside of the world of restauranteurs and their tax accountants, but has a definite impact on the wages of nearly 12 million women in the U.S. who work as waitresses (servers), I thought that Wikipedia would be an excellent vehicle to help raise the level of awareness about the employers' tip wage credit benefit. - Did you even bother to read what you were deleting??? The "NYC" thing has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with 9/11, considering that it was a briefly-prominent news story of 1992, almost ten years before. Furthermore, you don't seem to have acknoweldged the simple fact that this is the only way that a large number of non-typography-geeks would have ever heard about the font in the first place. Wingdings has never been a more-widely covered media "story" than in the NYC flap of 1992. AnonMoos 08:58, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

My experience has always been that they generally don't have them. You could have a 5 line summary that might have a spoiler in it, and that wouldn't make it automatically a "plot". But when you start getting into 400-500 word summaries of a 22 minute episode, you're dealing with the plot and not a synopsis. I tried to leave a couple I thought didn't really say anything, though some may have been changed unknowingly. For the most part, what is on these articles is a "plot" and not a "synopsis". - LOL, it's an annoying task. If you check the contribs all the way back I've bene doing it all day. I have to get up and leave the computer it's so tedious. I understand what you mean though. I'm sure there may be a couple that slipped through that were probably closer to a "synopsis" than a "plot" (stupid semantics really), if they ever get developed then I'm sure they will be expanded anyway. A bunch of us have been working on polishing a Television taskforce, because there are thousands of episode articles that don't meet the criteria (most never will) and they were created anyway, which they shouldn't have. So, we're trying to devise a good tag, review, determine if needs to be merged method for all of them. Simpsons generally gets picked as an example of good articles, but what I've noticed on these pages is that only The Simpsons (season 8) contains GAs (literally, all of the episodes are GA status), and every other season is really crap. So, only one more season to go, and these later episodes have huge summaries, so it's more clearly not a synopsis. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 22:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
school infoboxes
Hi ... infoboxes .... I'm not an expert on this. I would tend to be bold and pick one off a school I liked in my area/type etc that looked good and adapt it. You can find a list of good ones on Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Assessment. Its not much effort to change. If I wanted a real expert then I'd speak to Adam McCormick ... tell him I mentionred him and I'm sure he'd help - if you are still unsure then comeback you are not just being "sent away".
