Proposed deletion of Dr_Ivan_Rusilko

edit

Hello, Angelinagirl317. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Dr_Ivan_Rusilko, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, MathewTownsend (talk) 18:10, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Help for you

edit

User:JHunterJ saw your request for help at Wikipedia talk:Citing sources and made this change to Ivan Rusilko to show you what the previous person was talking about. If you look at what he did, you might be able to figure it out. He used a WP:Citation template, which isn't absolutely required, but many people like them. Good luck to you, WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:04, 11 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

A caution about conflicts of interest

edit

Hello, Angelinagirl317. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Ivan Rusilko, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

This comment is left in relation to the photograph used in the article. If you were able to take such a posed, professional picture of Rusilko, it suggests that you have access to him, likely because you've worked with or for him. —C.Fred (talk) 23:26, 11 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: This message left on my talk page:
Thank you for your help. The photo is the photo that he chose for his page.
Let me make sure I'm clear on this. You took multiple photographs of him, and he selected the picture you took that he liked the best, and then you've licensed that photo under Creative Commons, so anybody can use your work as long as they attribute it to you?
And if you're working that closely with the subject of the article, you have a very strong conflict of interest. The only way for the page to be free of conflicts is for other, independent editors to review your edits. —C.Fred (talk) 23:01, 12 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi again. This picture is his own and is on the internet for the public. Does that help? i certainly don't want to cause any problems. Should i have loaded it differently?
Yes, you should have loaded it differently! You've claimed it as your own work. Where did you find it on the internet? Not every file that the public can see on the internet is free for the public to use. —C.Fred (talk) 00:26, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Dr Ivan Rusilko.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Dr Ivan Rusilko.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:18, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Dr Ivan Rusilko.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Dr Ivan Rusilko.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:59, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Dr. Ivan Rusilko, The Winemaker's Dinner.JPG

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Dr. Ivan Rusilko, The Winemaker's Dinner.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
